The best vacuum for cat hair in the mid-range price bracket that we've tested is the Tineco PURE ONE S11. This cordless stick vacuum can tackle pet hair on bare floors as well as low and high-pile carpet at a much lower price point than either the Dyson V12 Detect Slim or Dyson V15 Detect. It also features a dirt sensor that allows it to increase its suction power when running over an area with a high concentration of debris. Unfortunately, the flip side of that lower price point is its less robust build quality and shorter battery life, which tops out at a little over 40 minutes.

This vacuum isn't the most maneuverable stick vacuum out there, with a tangle-prone floorhead that doesn't articulate very smoothly. If that's a concern, the Dyson V8 also happens to be one of the best stick vacuums for pet hair we've tested, as is easier to maneuver in tight spots. However, it lacks the Tineco vacuum's self-adjusting power function and has a smaller dustbin.

The Tineco PURE ONE S11 is a great option if you're looking on the affordable end of things but aren't willing to sacrifice versatility. Unusually for a vacuum in this price range, it has a built-in dirt sensor that lets it automatically increase its suction power when cleaning areas with a high concentration of debris and also has a HEPA filter that does a good job of sealing in allergens. Performance on bare floors is fantastic, though it has a harder time dealing with debris embedded in low-pile carpet. Unfortunately, its relatively affordable purchase price is reflected in its inferior battery performance to the Samsung Jet 90 Complete, as it can only run for a maximum of about 40 minutes.

If you want a mid-priced cordless vacuum that does a better job of handling debris on carpeted floors, the Samsung Jet 60 Pet is a fantastic alternative, though it lacks the Tineco's self-adjusting suction power capability and doesn't do as well on bare floors.

If you don't want to spend quite as much on a cordless vacuum for cleaning hardwood, the Tineco PURE ONE S11 is a great choice. Its max battery life of about 40 minutes is considerably less than that of the Samsung Jet 90 Complete. However, it's also notably cheaper and just as effective when clearing away pet hair as well as small and bulky debris on hardwood floors. While there's no compatible mopping floorhead, it still comes with a pretty wide variety of attachments for different tasks. These include a soft-bristle dusting brush for cleaning delicate surfaces and a miniature turbo brush that does a good job clearing away pet hair on upholstered surfaces. Unlike the Samsung, it also has a dirt sensor, allowing it to automatically ramp up suction in areas with a lot of debris.

Still, if you don't mind exchanging go-anywhere range in favor of the virtually indefinite runtime of a corded vacuum, the Miele Classic C1 PowerLine Pure Suction is an excellent option. The two vacuums aren't really competitors; the Miele is a bagged canister vacuum that isn't as maneuverable and slower to deploy, but it's substantially better built, easier to maintain, and is a better fit for cleaning bigger areas thanks to its unrestricted runtime.

If you want to spend a little less and don't mind missing out on the Dyson V12 Detect Slim's built-in particle counter, check out the Tineco PURE ONE S11. It's only marginally heavier than the Dyson and is consequently very easy to pick up and carry wherever you may need it. It has a similar dirt-detection system that allows it to automatically increase its suction power when running over an area with a large amount of debris. Its dirt compartment is also much larger than that of the Dyson, so you won't have to empty it quite as often.

This vacuum delivers fantastic performance on bare floors, though it does fall a little bit behind the Dyson when clearing away debris on low-pile carpeting. Its overall battery performance also lags behind that of more expensive alternatives, as its maximum battery life tops out at a little over 40 minutes. Additionally, it takes a lot longer than the Dyson to recharge.

The best vacuum cleaner for long hair in the mid-range price bracket that we've tested is the Tineco PURE ONE S11. Given its relatively low price point, it should come as no surprise that there are a few compromises compared to pricier models like the Samsung Jet 90 Complete, like its inferior build quality and shorter max runtime of about 40 minutes. If you don't mind that, it offers plenty of bang for the buck, with similarly exceptional hair-cleaning performance and a built-in dirt sensor that increases suction power in the presence of large amounts of debris. I've read over some other recommendations and it looks like the Sebo Felix Premium is a good option. I really like that it has adjustable suction, since that would be useful for rugs, curtains, etc., and it looks like it hits pretty much every other point. Are there other vacuums that are better than it for my purposes that I should consider? Or that are just as good, but cheaper?

 I also read that the filters and bags can run be expensive relative to other options in the States.

I have a different stick vacuum that I use downstairs - a Dyson V10 Animal+ from Costco - but my fiancée used it to vacuum up cat litter and it hasn't worked the same since. So optimally whatever vacuum I get would be easy to care up and down the stairs. This isn't an issue of weight (assuming it weighs less than 40 pounds or so) but more that the stairs are narrow and a bit steep, so I'd want something that isn't unwieldy. If it has a handle and it stays stable when lifted by it, great

Moved from a small apartment to a 120m2 (1300 sq ft) apartment. So my old vacuum doesn't do the trick anymore.

* Budget 300? If it is REALLY worth it I may go over it, but not for LCD screens or "frickin' lazers"
* Europe (Netherlands)

* No allergies

I was looking at Dysons as I have a handheld Dyson, and I'm genuinely happy with it. Right now I do the whole house on visual dirt with it... so yeah, in desperate need for an upgrade.

V10/V11 looks sweet but the price is meh, plus reading that it's mainly their marketing department doing a good job. That worries me.

Cordless Bagless Vacuum cleaner advice

I've never cared for bagless cleaners. Doesn't make sense to me to spend time cleaning then have to get your hands in there to pull bits of dirt out of the cup, and send all that dust back into the air. This one is not different, there is a space at the top of the cup where stuff stays in unless you reach in and get it.

I received Tineco Pure One S11 Spartan Cordless Smart Vacuum in exchange for an honest review.

This vacuum gets it up without complaint. I'm so very happy about that! You just don't know! Grab the vacuum off the charging dock, run over the dirt, put it back. Easy-Peasy.

It tells you when to clean the filter! I have paid attention, it is not set by time of use. It really knows when it needs cleaning. I like that.

Powerful Little Thing

 Two batteries, and a bunch of attachments. Both batteries get me through out 2300sqft house. Also picked up eufys vac it’s not a nice as the tineco but it’s an ok addition. I’ll link the tineco if you can find one or a model with all the attachments mentioned I’d recommend getting on

We are moving to a new house soon and are looking for a decent vacuum, but would also like to be able to clean our current one before we move! Our last vacuum was a Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Lift Off. It had great suction, but we have long hair and 2 cats, and the hair was always tangled in the brush roll and the brush roll burned out frequently. It was more of a PITA to clean the vacuum.

Our current apartment is mostly carpet, with a kitchen and bathroom that has tile. 800ish square feet. 

Our new house: 1400ish square feet. Unfinished basement, hardwood floors in the living room and on the stairs, tile in the 2 bathrooms and kitchen, carpeted in the upstairs hallway and in both bedrooms.

We don't have a budget. Preferably looking for something with a hose attachment, if possible, something not too bulky - our last one was so clunky, but since we will have a bigger place bulkiness won't be a huge issue; that can clean hardwood floors, tile, carpet, stairs, and can handle long hair and pet hair.

Recommendations for a good vacuum for carpeted and hardwood floor for people with long hair and cats?

 It self adjusted beautifully between my hardwoods and low-pile carpets and shag rugs. The only problem it had was the occasional problem with my medium-dense rugs, like the fake acrylic oriental- type. Sometimes it handled those like a champ, but sometimes it was kind of bumpy and wouldn't glide easily. That's the only reason for the subtracting of a star, otherwise this is an AMAZING vacuum with absolutely superior suction

 The dustbin is bigger than the one on my prior vacuum, and the debris falls out a lot easier, too, without getting wound up around the filter. This vacuum comes with a handy app, which I did download and clicked around on, but honestly- I don't see myself using it. The storage hanger was easy to mount and the vacuum is spring loaded just like the Dyson and super easy to remove. The tools click right in to place

 Sometimes it handled those like a champ, but sometimes it was kind of bumpy and wouldn't glide easily. That's the only reason for the subtracting of a star, otherwise this is an AMAZING vacuum with absolutely superior suction. One of the best I've used. I would highly recommend this one with no hesitation

Compares Well To Dyson

  We had a Dyson V8 prior to this, and it suffered from premature battery failure. I'll not buy another Dyson, their customer service was less than stellar. Purchased a second battery for the Tineco which makes it possible to do the entire house, mostly tile floors, one charge will just about do the entire house, 1900 sqft.  Consumer Reports does not at this time recommend ANY cordless stick vac, due to issues of early battery failure

Bought this Tineco Pure One S11 after seeing that it earned Consumer Reports Highest Rating for Cordless Stick Vacs, to replace a Dyson V8 Cordless Stick Vac which had a failed battery after 3 years. Consumer Reports made it seem like this would be a better replacement. Pure ONE S11 is quiet, and easy to handle, but it's suction is less than I wanted. Picks up dust and cat hair, but litter box litter gets spread around on the floor and I have to go over it several times to get it all
