 It arrived in one of the famous white bubble padded envelopes which bothered me for an electronic product that was going to save my data. At the time I was not aware that this external hard drive does not have the moving parts like my older WD Element and Seagate models.  The blue powered/activity light is freakishly bright! Like, REALLY bright, to the point where I need to cover it, or position it somewhere that the light is blocked. It is really, really distracting!  Those are really just nitpicking, though. If you want a great portable drive that is fast, connects easy, csuper fast and great storage capacity, the I highly recommend this, whether you need it for extra storage or backup.  The drive does come with both IuSB-A and USB-C cables, so you don’t have to go looking for cables

  The drive works great otherwise. So plug and forget for the most part. I’ve only got two real issues, and both of those are actually pretty minor:  1. I wish there was a power button on it

This portable hard drive is so much smaller than my ancient one, and it's great! I love how it powers up just being connected to the computer; and doesn't need a separate electrical connection. I got the 1TB drive for my new M1 iMac. I was worried about connecting to a Mac, but I had no issues whatsoever. I've included a couple of pics to show what I had to do: choose the hard drive from the list so this one is now default, and then erase the Toshiba drive so it could be formatted to work with TimeMachine (there was nothing on it to begin with since it was brand new, so erasing was easy)

Super small & easy to use

 Our newer MacBook only comes with 2 USB-C ports, although we bought a "dongle" with extra ports should we ever have the need for USB-A, HDMI, etc.  This new drive quickly backed up our existing MacBook content. I made small changes and backed up a couple more times for good measure (taking seconds on these subsequent backups, as opposed to minutes from the first/initial backup).  We bought the 2TB size as that's all we needed and Amazon's delivery was "next day" even on a Sunday, so actual time from order to receipt was less than 24 hours:)
