After recent use it's begun to accumulate a thin layer of black, maybe burned on material I cannot clean off.  It isn't uniform or smooth, it's just kind of a smear.  I don't know if someone used cooking spray when the shouldn't have or some other ingredient.  It's gotten especially vexxing as my wife has taken to cooking large batches of egg whites and it leaves a whole layer of burned on, stuck egg white that I'm having to either scrape off with my nails or various non-metal utensils

Good morning!  A little over a year ago I bought a Tramontina non-stick skillet  (seen here [URL REMOVED] has been amazing.  It has been the best piece of non-stick cookware I've ever had.  I had bought it based on a recommendation in the NY Times.

I usually buy Cuisinart stainless nonstick in 8" for $20, and replace about every year and a half due to either accidentally scratching with a fork, or leaving the pan on a low burner with nothing in it... which is actually dangerous

 This time I did about an hour research on nonstick on the whitfordww.com website, and it sounded like the Eclipse (tm) coating used on this product might be better than the Quantanium (tm) used on the Cuisinart..

 I can live with putting a few drops of oil in the pan, but I cannot live with a pan that rocks on a flat surface! I use the pan mostly for eggs, and it just doesn't work well with one egg when the egg slides out of center because of an uneven pan bottom. I have decided to order the Ozeri 8" nonstick instead. The Eterna (tm) nonstick coating on the Ozeri (and also on the Viking nonstick pans) is also made by Whitford and appears newer and better. The Whitford website under cookware has a comparison chart of their nonstick coatings, if you're interested

I have ONLY used silicone cooking utensils and only on medium low heat, never put it in the dishwasher, never put it in the sink to soak, only washed it after it cooled, never placed it in my dish drainer to dry in case it might accidentally hit something so I always towel dried it and hung it up so nothing would touch it.  It was supposed to replace the Tramontina pan I bought last year. I definitely did not follow the care/ use instructions on my last pan purchase, so I was determined to take great care of this one.  My husband does most of the cooking but I do cleanup. This pan is non stick but again the weight and large size makes it difficult to maneuver. After 6 months of careful use, it has warped. We handled it very carefully - never left it on the heat empty, never used high heat and never plunged it into cold water while hot

 After looking at other reviews I realized this is a common thing that has been experienced. When you buy a pan you should not have to throw it away after only 2 months of use and 1-2 times in the dishwasher. Other times it had been washed by hand so if you get this pan most definitely wash it by hand only.

I’ve used this pan 6-7x thus far. I use it to make eggs (with cheese & ham). It works well. The non-stick is good in the pan

Loved this 10 inch non stick pan for 2 years. Then gradually food began to slightly stick to now where everything sticks. Contacted customer service on their lifetime warranty. Turns out, the warranty is only good for what they deem manufacturing defects and does not include wear and tear and miss use

This pan came so highly reviewed, I had high hopes. Unfortunately, it is already showing scratches, even though I only use silicone utensils and take care when hand-washing it. Also, it was shipped loose (ie. not in a box!) with the shipping label stuck on the product's cardboard topper

 Much to my surprise - Tramontina replaced the skillet for free, just took a really long time in doing so (maybe 6 or 7 weeks?). I had totally forgotten about the warranty claim because it had been so long - until I got a random "your claim has been processed" email and then a week later a large unknown package containing a new skillet showed up at my door. That's a nice surprise. Not sure I would recommend the product, but at least they honored the warranty in my case

 Low heat, eggs over-easy (one flip), with a soft plastic utensil. 1-4 eggs at a time. No added fat for the pan. Used twice daily
