This set is thoughtfully designed in regards to sizes and handles, but for the serious cook, they will most likely not hold up. It appears that the steel is quite soft, resulting in scratching, and the satin finish encourages sticking and discoloration. The lids fit well, but the edges of the pots are designed in such a manner that they will quickly develop dings if a utensil is tapped across them to loosen food back into the pot. If you compare the design and quality of the Kirkland brand of cookware that was made in Thailand to this set, you would find that these are grossly inferior

If I were new to cooking, I would be thrilled with these. But after decades of daily cooking, preserving, and pickling, I know that these were not the best purchase.

Excellent set for an occasional cook

 Guess I’ll have to go buy Barkeepers Friend and see if that works. Description said this could happen on high heat cooking. Disappointed.

Followed directions exactly - cleaned first, warmed pan on low, added olive oil cooking cooking spray, cooked on medium. Seemed to cook fine but badly discolored. Tried cleaning w dawn dish soap and tulle scrubby. This pic is after minutes of scrubbing

But it works great

 The recommendation is to use on low to medium heat and even with that temperature control the color still changes.  The large fry pan I used 3 times and it looks like I’ve had it for years.

Hard to clean

These pans are fantastic. They cook well and are exactly what I was looking for. I took 1 star off because one of the lid handles was wiggly out of the box. I already threw away my old pans and don’t want to have to send these back and have no pans just for one lid so that’s on me

   If you can get by with 10" as your larger skillet, you will be all set with this set, for a bargain.   If you see this before 4/13, use the $25-off coupon, for an even better deal (~190, incl tax).

   Thankfully there's a 10" skillet, and that's probably ok.  If you need a 12" skillet, I'd recommend all-clad (but that pan will cost you >$100, more than half the price of this set).    Sum: This set is a good bargain, Try-ply Clad, with relatively large cookware (compared to other sets, that tend to have tiny items).   My only personal suggestion/complaint is there's not a 12" skillet.   Thankfully there's a 10" skillet, and that's probably ok.  If you need a 12" skillet, I'd recommend all-clad (but that pan will cost you >$100, more than half the price of this set)

   But this set will 'fill out' the other areas, of smaller skillets (10" and 8" skillets) + various pots (smaller sauce pots, plus a 5-qt "dutch oven" pot and a 8-qt stock pot.)   I LOVE that this set has stainless steel (rather than glass) lids.  I also love this set includes larger items (the 5 and 8-quart pots, plus 10" skillet).    I've been looking around for the past year or two, and this is the best cookware set I've found
