  I use wooden and nylon utensils and normally cook on 2/3/4 setting on my gas stove.  When Boiling water ill go to 5/6 for pasta - but hey thats only water lol.  Overall - disappointed but unless you want to pay the all clad price - i guess this is the best substitute :(

Ehhhhh - follow up review

. Ours was manufactured in China, but that was pretty much expected. It is stainless so those expecting ease of clean up like Teflon or ceramic will be disappointed obviously, but stainless is a whole different animal and if you treat it right and use it properly it works and cleans up almost easily as modern chemical based cookware without the worry of what your feeding your family unknowingly. In other words, it's not for the 'super' lazy cook if you want it to continue to look great, and it does look great, it needs a bit of care

 We were replacing our old stuff and wanted to buy cookware that we would use for the rest of our lives, without any worry of eating the coating in our scrambled eggs etc... Ours was manufactured in China, but that was pretty much expected

 The one negative I have to give this set is that the 12" fry pan has a less than ideal flare to its sides. They flare out at such a shallow angle that it reduces the area of flat cooking surface that's available. If they would have just scaled up their 10" fry pan, it would be perfect.

 The riveted handles look and feel bullet proof. They do come pristine and polished so if you plan on doing any cooking you have to get over the fact that they will acquire scuffs and slight discoloration over time, but their performance will last. Excellent, low-priced rival to All-Clad

True, the stainless steel doesn't release food as readily, and the pans have a tendency to dull (without upkeep), but I didn't buy these for their aesthetics,  there were purchased for their ability to cook our food evenly and quickly.

I'm quite happy with our new set; we previously had a non-stick (titanium) coating that blistered and flaked-away.

Just received set the other day. Arrived in fine shape, nice, heavyweight and sturdy. Seems to be good quality ss.  We're concerned that they're made in China, but have read that Tramentina's quality control is good

After pot cooled, wiped it dry and we noticed what appears to be pitting beginning on bottom.  No signs of this before use. Will try using again and try other pots and pans. Stay tuned

Primary review

If quality matters, this set is for you! If you  want for displaying, you'll be using barkeeper on the inside for stains, not food sticking, after each use. But, that said, each pots, pans are a beauty, and a joy to use. I'm blessed.

Materials used in the cookware set seem nice but after cooking with them heat stains have appeared inside the cookware.  My friends have All-clad and La Sur Table stainless steel cookware and do not have this issue.  I researched the issue and the heat stains can be removed using vinegar but who wants to clean their pots with vinegar after each usage.

Disappointed

It feels well built and they look nice. The only issue I have is pretty much every time I cook no matter what if I want the bottom of the pans to not have stains on them I have to use bar keepers friend.

One of the pans has a stain of some kind that you can actually feel, and not sure it can be scrubed off. I thought this was brand new, never used! Can you explain?
