 Next one is the okay button when you're going through the menus. That also turns on or off your recording as well. Then you have your microphone button which also acts as the left arrow button. Beside that is your right arrow button as well

 The button system, the menu system, if something happens something someone cuts you off or someone hits you and you want to make sure you you got that recording just a simple hit on that very very first button you get a huge red lock symbol across the screen there's no doubt that that's the clip that you are recording or basically that you're saving in your events folder that will not get recorded over. So yeah just really simple and intuitive. So if you're looking for a three camera dash so if you're looking for a three camera dash cam system and you want something streamlined easy to use with good quality you definitely want to take a look at this Vantrue N4 and make sure check in the description. I'm going to check with the manufacturer to see if they'll supply me a code and if there is one in that description it might even save you some money

 One thing that I like about the Vantrue products over some other dash cams that I've used is how simple they are to use. They're very intuitive.  I did a review on that if you haven't seen that one check that out in the video section of everyday reviews. But if you compare the N2 Pro with the N4 side by side there isn't a huge difference in size but the one major difference is the size of the screen. So the N2 Pro has a one and a half inch screen where this N4 has a 2.45 inch screen

  However, the parking mode does work better on the newer unit, though probably not well enough to prove it if a stalker is driving past my house 10 times a day. And I noticed something about the night vision in the new unit -- it seems to work via infrared, because you could see a part of my bra's outline in one of the interior videos I reviewed. I was wearing a dark blue shirt at the time with a printed image on it that made it impossible to see my bra under regular light. However with this dash cam's night vision, you could see the straps and upper part of the bra well enough to know it was there

 And so I wondered whether it was because I hadn't connected the rear camera yet, or if the thing just doesn't record on the higher resolutions.  And so I went about testing the camera after the rear camera was hooked up at different resolutions. I was able to get some footage, but the kicker is, the camera apparently lost my time setting, and so the 1st and 2nd round of tests are hard to figure out and I have to redo them. I can't say yet whether this 2nd dash cam is going back to Amazon or not

Iffy quality but worth it when it works

 But nevertheless, it still worked well overall for letting me know everything else that was going on around me. Coming back to the dash cam, though, if I were to kind of summarize my thoughts here with this Ventrue N4, I liked it overall having this three channel dash cam that I could quickly and easily install in the car and then take down after I was done. I liked the video quality. I liked that it records at 1440p up front and then 1080p for the interior and rear facing dash cam

 You've got the main front-facing dash cam. You've got a second rear-facing dash cam that goes on your rear window. And then on the backside of the main camera, you have a third interior-facing dash cam that lets you record the inside of your car. And the front dash cam is designed to record in 2K or 1440p, while the other two channels are going to be recording at full HD, 1080p

 But for something like this to just quickly toss in the car, it was convenient, good video quality, and did a nice job. And so I think overall, it's a good dash cam. Pros and cons like anything else, but yeah, there you go. There's the Vantrue N4

 And those are designed to light up the cabin at night and give you nighttime recording. You can't actually see them with the naked eye, but it's going to allow you to record when things are dark. Now, on the backside of the dash cam, you've got this 2 and 1 half inch LCD screen, which is really nice when you're getting the dash cam mounted and angled in your car to make sure that everything is straight. And so it was really nice having the co-pilot there kind of monitoring the phones and the navigation and everything

Vantrue not recommended in wiki?

... so was it just hot enough and my work parking lot just busy enough for it to die?? If so that's a pretty low bar

 I plan on updating this review again after I have had a chance to install and test the new dash cam.  **Previous 2 Star Review** I bought this because not too long ago someone ran into my vehicle in a parking lot and left. I discovered the damage after the fact with no idea who'd done it. I had a dashcam at the time but it only worked when the car was on

Failed when I needed it most - UPDATED

UPDATE: Micro HDMI port does not work on two cameras, and three cables tested.

 And at no time ever has any family been this happy during a road trip. The biggest issue for me is no recording without constant power. Some dash cameras have built-in batteries to allow it to kick on and record at least a little bit, with the car being off or not providing power. You're covered if you get into an accident while on the move, but all the other times, you'll need it when the car is broken into or vandalized or whatever the case might be when you're not near it, you're hosed

 It comes in at $260 or $230 if you use the coupon. There certainly are cheaper options out there, so I'm going to expect a lot out of this dash cam system. Let's take a look. The Vantrue dash cam has three cameras, front, inside, and rear

 It's cool, unless you have to drive at night, and then you're blinded by the light of a thousand stars. Sometimes I wonder if it's slowly giving me a sunburn. Let's change gears and check out some footage and see what the microphone sounds like. This will serve as a good test to see what the audio sounds like

 So do I recommend it? Perhaps. If you only want recording while driving and it ticks all the rest of your boxes, then sure. But if you want recording while your car isn't in use, you have to spend more money with adapters that can kill your battery or buy their hardwire kit. I would assume most people would fall into this latter category, and for me, at this price, it's a hard sell when it's missing this feature
