I've only got back into golf this year, i played alot at school as i lived next to a golf course and after not playing in about 7 years i decided I'd get back into it.

Living next to a course as a kid meant I'd always go golf ball hunting in the OB section, and i pretty much only played ProV1s because i had heaps and it was cool, right?

Anyway, now that I've moved away and don't have the luxury of unlimited balls like when i was a kid, I've been wondering if balls actually make a difference at my level (don't have a handicap but i typically shoot mid 80s, 90 if it's a really bad day). Currently using the srixon Q-star as it was $100 for 3 doz (NZD so i thought that was pretty good) and they seem good for the price, but my question is, what do you use and why? Do you think it makes a significant difference to justify a few extra bucks?

What golf ball do you use and why?

Tour quality ball, not the ball that a Pro V1 is but at almost $20 per dozen savings they are good enough for the above average golfer looking for a ball that will play well. Long off the driver and enough spin around the greens to make them useable on fast greens. When it's hard dry and fast you may notice the biggest difference in this and a premium big brand ball

 Yeah. You hit some bunkers out of it. You pinch some wedges pretty hard. We might be able to get some wedge wear in here if we really tried it

 We would appreciate it. So again, with the Vice golf ball, I think just like we're talking about the cut blue we did previously, as well as the Snell MTB black, I believe. Yes. Vice, we're kind of going with what the company says

 And our big thing is, does it hold up to what they say? Yes. With that being said, Vice is not saying that they're better than the Pro V1X. They are simply saying that they are comparable. Even comparison is what they're saying

 All the stuff is going to be comparable to the Pro V1. So like we usually do with our ball review stuff, both golf balls are stickered. So it's doing as little of damage to the golf ball as it possibly can do. Uh, whereas you're on the golf course, even if you're not losing it, let's say you hit a car path, hit a car path, hit a tree

I play vice pro plus. Have had all of my best rounds with them including an even par 70 two weeks ago. I find they play exactly like a prov1x which is what I used to use before but the vice balls are half the price.

Let me tell you about Vice golf balls

 The ball matches my game well. The price of this ball has continued to rise and they are now priced at the level of most other premium balls and I have been on a search for lower priced alternative for about a year. I've tried several other balls that get great reviews from other players who love them - I just haven't found another ball that plays as well for me as the AVX. Well - until this week

High Performer

 So for me, when I'm hitting driver, I like a ball to carry in the 280-yard mark and over 160 miles per hour ball speed. So that's what it's got to match up to. And it goes back to that first question I asked, like, is this ball overrated? It's got a mega cult following. It feels like all the cool kids use VICE Golf Balls because it's kind of

 Like this VICE Pro Plus Golf Ball is ticking all the boxes. It feels good around the green. It spins well. Certainly spinning in that part three was very impressive

 Now I want to pick up on something straight away because I want to test this a little bit more in depth in a minute. But just after a few shots, these are the balls I've just been testing with them. Check out these kind of scuffs like that cover. I mean, it's a bit of dirt on there as well

Is using colored balls a no-no?

 I understand I’m older and my swing speed is slower as well. A friend turned me onto this ball…WOW…I can personally say that for me I’m getting 25 plus more yards off the tee with this golf ball. It’s actually designed for older golfers or golfers with a slower swing speed. My swing speed now is anywhere from 88 to 93 mph

 I used to play the ProV1x then switched to the Velocity as I got older. I had not been getting the distance from the tee that I used too. I understand I’m older and my swing speed is slower as well. A friend turned me onto this ball…WOW…I can personally say that for me I’m getting 25 plus more yards off the tee with this golf ball

What's your favorite ball that you've ever found in the woods? Mine is a ball I found in Minnesota at my home course that had a course logo on it from a small town in Nebraska that I had played at years prior.

 I've always played a Pro V1x, and the Vice Pro+ was just good(if not better!) When you hit one in the water, $2.90 lost ball doesn't feel as bad as $4.50 lost ball. Worth the switch!
