Love it BUT

 The Kamado was still 200°F , I opened the vents and within 15min the temperature raised to 400°F, cooked the pizza for 20min, closed the vents and 4 hours later, the Kamado was still at 200°F. At the following day I checked the charcoal and still had about 1lb. Incredible, well you have to consider here in Panamá the average temperature is 86°F. I wrote this extensive review because of the awesome experience, now I am planning to sell the Weber Smokey mountain

 An advice well known about this type of grills is to be aware of the initial temperature because if you raise it to much they keep the heat for a long time and lowering it down takes a lot of time, so my advice is to start with 200°F or 250°F and then raise it up using the vents until you get the desire temperature. After you get to that point to keep it is easy since the ceramic holds really well the heat, some minor adjustments in vents will be needed every hour to keep it cooking. Now let's talk about Vision Grills CF1F1 Pro Kamado BBQ, since I live in Panamá City my Kamado was bought here for $899. Doing some research, it seems to be a factory in China that builds a generic ceramic grills and supply to other brands like Monolith, Grilla Grills Kong, Pit Boss Kamado BBQ and Vision Grills, the heart of the ceramic grill is almost the same for all of them with some minor differences

Awesome experience

 This one got all warped out of shape within the first few weeks. I had to take it off and hammer it back into shape. Fourth the thermoplastic shelves don't seem to have any resistance at all to heat.

 The temperature control is stellar and this is the only unit on the market with an setup for an electric charcoal igniter which is a hugely convenient feature. The finish of this unit is gorgeous. There however are a few points on which they could be improved. First the main grill is set almost 2 inches below the rim which complicates working with spatulas and doing things like setting a pizza on a stone with a peel

 Fourth the thermoplastic shelves don't seem to have any resistance at all to heat...which is kind of weird on a BBQ

I’ve had this grill for 2 years and I can’t say enough about the efficiency and ease that it smokes, grills and sears meats. Best grill by far that I have ever purchased. More importantly, there is a life time warranty on the grill to boot!

  COOKING - Due to the nature of this grill's design with the ash drawer and vent dials all in one air leaks are somewhat unavoidable. This is not a set it and forget it style of cooker when going low and slow. I find that my digital pit thermometer will read around 230-240 degrees average with some slight gaps left in the top and bottom vents. Roughly 3-4 pounds of lump will cook for 9 hours with some wood chunks for flavor

 DON'T USE LIGHTER FLUID EVER IN A CERAMIC GRILL!!!!!  Purchased through my local Home Depot for $699.00 mid April 2015 (Length of ownership +1 month). I have used gas grills for years and wanted to enjoy the taste of real burning charcoal and wood. However, I have been pleased with my Vision Grill and their customer service

TLDR: Save money and buy from Home Depot or local retailer. Cooks great food as long as you have the patience to let the coals settle. Vision customer service rocked when I had a broken top band for the lid by over-nighting me the replacement part. This grill's price vs other ceramic grills on the market is a great, for a great outdoor cooking product

  I got this for my birthday in 2014, so almost a year of use and it is awesome! It will hold a heat for a very long time. The longest smoke I have done was for 16 hours without putting in another drop of lump wood charcoal. The only thing I have ever used in it is lump wood charcoal. I started with Royal Oak, it was OK, but did not last super long, now all I use is either Cowboy Charcoal or Western Hardwood Charcoal, both have long burn times, while looking like it comes from real wood, Royal Oak sometimes looks like they were pallets

Vision Kamado is a Serious Contender!

Run from this product this is a no BS review ...

 I tend to sit not to far from my Kamado when cooking Ribs for 10 hours, and I find the need to adjust the low temperature about every two hours. I have both a bluetooth thermometer so that I can roam around and get alert is something goes wrong.  Part of the fun of cooking with a kamado is precisely doing this: Roaming around with a beer and controlling the temp from time to time. The only reason I haven't bought a second one for my house is: What would I do with my Napoleon BBQ for which I have no real use anymore ?? (First world problem I guess)

This is the Vision Grills C-Series (_not_ the S-Series, typically sold at home depot :).

Get so much more for your money than the top competitors! Great smoke, flavor and temp control
