[music] Vizio has been a value king for years, with the M Series sort of being the value leader in its lineup, but in a race that now includes Tcl and Hisense is the M Series still in the lead. [music] Welcome back everyone! I'm Caleb Dennison. and yes, today, we are finally going to review the Vizio M series, specifically the M7. There's also an M8 variant, but I'll get back to that in a little bit

 On the topic of it having a 60hz panel, let's talk about how gaming friendly this Tv is. To be clear, it doesn't support all of the fancy new features, but it does have an Er port. It does support auto low latency mode, so it's going to go straight into gaming mode or Vizio's gaming engine if you will. and it also supports variable refresh rate, which is amazing for a Tv at this price

 There's basically no low end, so unless you're just watching the news, I would highly recommend you get even Vizio's most basic sound bar to accentuate the sound. One pro tip: however, if you are going to use the Tv, speakers, go into the audio settings and turn off the virtual surround sound. I definitely like the full array local dimming setting to be about medium in either case, but once the thing is adjusted, it's amazing just how much color coverage it has. and because it's got quantum dots inside, it's doing a good job with color brightness as well

 I really do appreciate the fact that it's Chromecast enabled. It's got Apple home kit and Airplay 2 support, so there's a lot of wireless connectivity there. But I got to say I definitely miss Hbo Max and Sling Tv not being on this particular television. Now There are worker rounds you can use Chromecast or Airplay 2 as I mentioned, but I like having the apps on the Tv for the best possible experience

Vizio M-Series Quantum (M65Q7-H1) Review | Still the best bang for your buck?

Picked up a 55” Vizio M-series (M556-H4) and it’s already having connectivity and freezing issues. Probably not a good sign when you see these types of problems within the first few hours of use. Sucks, because I got this thing for $330 at Walmart, and now the same exact TV is listed for $498 on their website. Did they just sell me a bad TV for a cheaper price or something? I guess I didn’t do my research on Vizios and I’m thinking I need to return this TV now. Does anyone have any recommendations for a 55” that is less than $500, but preferably closer to $330. Thanks in advance.

Brand New Vizio already giving me problems

Real connectivity problem with a recently purchased Vizio M-Series TV that is giving me grief. Regardless or whether I plug my external devices (Apple TV, etc.) into the Cinema 800 and use the HDMI out to the TV, or plug the devices into the TV's HDMI inputs and use HDMI Arc out to the soundbar, the Klipsch remote's volume adjustment *always*, I mean every single time, causes the Vizio to switch inputs to the Smartcast input.

  Also has an intermittent problem with sound being 3 seconds behind the person talking. Online search (not the concierge service) gives a digital sound setting which mostly cures problem, if PCM setting instead of Dolby is OK.  Costco replaced the first set but the second was the same. Vizio support told me the startup problem is normal for TIVO input to HDMI

Only TCL 6 Series or X900H on sale. You have to just wait. Looks like R635 will be out until 2022 models come out next year. So they'll be definitely stocked again.

The Vizio P Series Quantum (not the X) 75" is on Sale for $1,499 as of today. Comparable specs to a 900H or a Q80T but from a less prestigious brand. Might be worth checking out!

So I have been looking for a 6 series TCL but they are sold out. Today I thought I may go check out the hg8. I currently have a 2015 7 series samsung [specs](https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/samsung/ju7100) I have been pleased with this tv for years and I just want to be sure the next tv is not a downgrade. It needs to be as good or better in a bright environment, this is a living room with a wall of windows. Is there any other reccomended tv's in that price range for 75", I understand the Samsungs are not worth it at that price.

Avoid samsung and lg at lower price points they make good high end tvs but not low end. Tcl and vizio are your best bets
