 My phone's battery's about to die. I forgot to charge it up so I have 13 miles on the app and I just reset the trip odometer. The battery is 45. I have another six miles

 so I bet you're You're looking at like a 20 to 23 mile range, so hopefully that gives you an idea of the type of range you can get on a single track green rated trail. I charged up the battery, found a paid trial, and did another range test. I just hit 75 on the battery and I've gone 11.61 miles with a 50 minute ride time, and I've been averaging about 20 to 22 miles an hour

 I also like to show the difference in speed on all pedal assist levels. So here you go. The X3 weighs 61 pounds and has a weight limit of 300.

 I'm 110 pounds less than that and wanted to see how long it would take to reach 24 miles per hour in an acceleration test. The X3 comes with a thumb throttle so I compare that with the highest pedal assist mode to see which was faster. Right off the bat, the throttle was the fastest and maintain 2-3 miles per hour above pedal Assist level 3 up until around 90 miles per hour. From then on they were pretty much neck and neck until they hit 24 miles per hour with straight throttle taking 23 seconds and pedal Assist 3 just over 25 seconds

Just starting to look into buying an ebike.  With the new 30% tax refund and black friday coming up I was thinking it might be interesting to get one.  It would be for two for NYC commuting.  Total combined weight of around 330.   


Any recommendations for what / where to buy in NYC or is it better to buy online.   My budget would be around 2-3k if possible.  I believe the 30% rebate only applies to max 750W bikes.  Would hope it could go \~30MPH but I don't know if that's possible.  


I have also seen others recommending Velosurance if you're going to lock up the ebike outside for any period of time.

I've spent 2 weeks time researching ebikes. my wife is going to shoot me if I don't pick one or move on. I live near a beach, and plan to ride it on the shore with my child on the back in a seat. Also thinking trips to the store, and just recreational riding on trails, etc.

\-must be in stock, ships like today, and delivered this week or next. no waiting. wish i had the time custom built or back-orders. 

\-throttle to 25mph (or beyond) for off road usage on fire roads (if not from factory, easily change setting)

\-carry child seat on rear rack

\-prefer cruiser style, nothing too bent over and nothing too huge, really not that picky about format/geometry. 

\-mid/fat tire, mostly off-road, some city

wishful:

\-zippy/quick accelerating, especially with just me. id expect it to be a little slow with the kid on the back.

\-wife-friendly budget, maybe $2,500 max delivered.

EDIT: Okay, so she says I order today (Sunday) or move on. Kinda harsh, but I&#39;m with her. There has to be a good in-stock choice... right?

Hemiway Escape - not in stock. moped style. good value. scared to order from Hemiway.

-Hemiway Cruiser - scared to order, not sure how long it will take to arrive, and support stories are terrifying. I found 6 different BBB profiles, each with dozens of horror stories. I know many people say they&#39;re great, but I&#39;m scared.

-Aventon Aventure - Seems a little big, not the best looking, left throttle, and limited to 20mph on throttle. BUT, in stock at Best Buy, so way less scary to order.

-Juiced Scorpion - Moped style maybe not best for beach riding. Not sure how the child seat would work on the back vs MTB format.

-Juiced RipCurrent S - only throttle to 20mph and hasn&#39;t been updated in 2 years, was really well specced for 2019, but price has gone up, specs the same.

-Ride1up LMTd - limited to 20mph, left throttle, no fenders or rack.

-Ride1up 700 - it has a 500w motor, which really turns me off from them... how does the 700 have a 500 watt motor? Also has 27.5 tires, vs 26 of most competitors.

-Ariel Rideal - looks awesome for $899, but is not available as a step through or mid step, too tall for me or my wife. 

Ariel X-class - makes me reconsider that format for riding, but its also backorder now too.
