 Those are really cheap to switch out, but that's kind of an air like an odor thing. If you need it doesn't really filter anything, but it's more for just just odors your cooking or pets or anything like that. We'Ll get rid of that and then the third one is obviously the most importantly HEPA filter, which will get rid of 99.97 % of all airborne allergens

 One thing to note about it is: it is not an ozone generator, which is a good thing, they've kind of found that ozone is not a good thing to be breathing in so this is not an ozone generator, but basically it just uses kind of this plasma Beam inside to break down you know even more energy particles, chemical vapors and other things like that seems to work fine. I can't really tell the be honest if it's me doing anything or not, but I leave it on anyway, just because I know it's not generating ozone or anything, and it can't hurt so one thing to notice this model doesn't have a remote control to me that Doesn'T make any difference, I've had them with remote controls before and I've never used. Basically, the first one is a washable screen which is really nice, that filters out all the big dust, particles and stuff and that never have to change.  If it's on anything like me, Neum or low, you can't even hear it like, you can put your ear up to it and barely hear it on low. If it's on higher turbo, you may hear it if you're, maybe like more, you know closer than about five feet, ten feet, maybe on turbo, but the thing is: is it never really runs on turbo it'll run on high for a while, when you first put it Into your house, while it cycles the entire air inside your home, but then it'll automatically turn itself down because it senses less debris in the air too low and very rarely ever goes over that, maybe if you're cooking or smoke or something like that, it'll move back Up to medium, but 99 % of the time it's going to be in low whisper, quiet mode, the plasma wave technology it has, I guess, work so, okay, I leave it on all the time.  Should you want to buy this unit? The second big negative for this unit is the fact that its carbon filter is a fiber filter that is only coated with carbon. Now this is extremely common in the air purifier world. Most units on the market have the same type of carbon filter. It'S a fiber based filter, that's coated with carbon

 However, we do recommend that you run it on the turbo fan, speed at least initially to lower particle concentration initially, and then you can run it on lower fan speeds. After that, we also like the fact that this unit has four fan speeds that gives you the option to set it to. Whichever fan speed is at a comfortable noise level. As the fan speed goes up, the noise level goes higher, so with the ability to set that fan, speed to those four different speeds, you're able to set the fan speed exactly the noise level that you can actually tolerate

 Those carbon pellets have much greater surface area, they are much better for absorbing gases and if you are somebody that is concerned about VOCs, if you're concerned about odors and any type of gas contaminant in the air, you definitely want to take a close look at that Unit compared to this unit, this unit is definitely not as good of an option for gas filtration the 5500 and the 5300 that we have here today are very similar units. Otherwise they both are exactly the same size, they're very similar weight. They both share the same control panel. It really is just that carbon filter that is different

 What we like about this unit, we really like its high output at 250. Cfm. This unit is a viable option for not only small rooms but large rooms as well in smaller rooms, you're going to run it at lower fan speeds at a very high energy efficiency and with very low noise output in larger rooms. You can run it on those lower speeds as well

It is quiet, compact and easy to move. Not sure yet if the air in the room is improved yet. It is difficult to measure.

I was sneezing constantly and I also have asthma so I turned off the Plasma Wave and no more sneezing. Read about this before you buy or use this system.

Very quiet BUT it has Plasma Wave technology that produces ozone. The amount of ozone that will hurt asthmatics and other respiratory disease is a concern.

 Even a little can build up over time. Please read about this on American Lung Asso. site or other.

Quiet, seems to clear air but Plasma Wave....

Set up easily and started producing nice comforting clean air Nice quiet operation. The unit is easy to move and blends in well with different rooms.  I been using the air purifier for two weeks now and am happy. Just wish I had bought the washable filter as I believe this one will fill up quickly

So far so much clean air

  I ran it on the third fan setting and very quickly the red turned to blue and has been that way ever since.  It's quiet and I feel that it's the best addition to the house since the cat.  The Winix is everything good reviewers said about it and I'm buying a second one for the bedroom and master bath area.  Simple and easy and an attractive piece
