Mopping is the only area I’m not particularly impressed with the D9. It works okay, but as it only drags the mopping cloth along the floor there’s a limit to what it can achieve.

Have a eufy 11s and end up following it around pinging the remote control for directions I want it to take. Perhaps there’ll be a price drop on current models with CES this week. Personally I’m looking at Roborock s5 max or a Deebot T8 / T8 Aivi. The dreame d9 looks interesting on paper but performs poorly due to sloppy navigation.

It has a mopping function but I’ve only used that once as it was too much hassle, but the vacuum thing is great. I have it set so that it runs when we’re not home (which happens less in Covid times…) so it’s nice to come home to a vacuumed home. I’ve now bought another vacuum for the other floor. I found that the prices for the Roborocks have gone through the roof, so I got a Xiaomi Dreame D9 - which once I got it seems to be a slightly updated version of the Roborock S5… It works just as well, looks a bit more modern, only downside is that the dust container is slightly smaller.

So basically always leave it at its docking station. Unfortunately, in the instructions it is very clearly stated that I should never let it dock with the mopping module attached. This sucks, because it means it has to be supervised whenever I want it to use the mopping feature. I really don't see the point in having a noisy and cumbersome robot go through the house for hours on end while the family is trying to live our lives.
