I play drums for some time, but mainly electric ones. Now i have a real drums, but very crappy cymbals. I want something better. I want to invest something between $300 and $400. I play rock, metal and sometimes jazz, but i need them to stand some impact. Which cymbals would you recommend? I saw on youtube Zultan Rock Beat set and Istanbul Mehmet Natural and Brilliant. Are these good?

Which budget cymbals to buy for metal?

These are just barely okay for me. We needed something affordable and this was definitely more affordable than most. Even with my extremely low expectations of these I am still disappointed in the sound quality and expected more from Zildjian, they sound very tin-like. But they do the job allowing me to practice but I would honestly be embarrassed to play them in public and I am not afraid to let my children go crazy on them as I would be with other expensive cymbals

Four piece kits are fun too

Good for a beginner but I would recommend saving extra dollars to get the full 20 inch ride, 16 inch crash and 14 inch hi hat cymbal pak

If you are beginner or just want cymbals for your practice kit, these are the best. For any and all other ventures, these (the ZBT line) cymbals are notorious in the drumming community as being complete crap for these two main reasons  Overpowering and unpleasant sound:  I'm hard of hearing and I know for a fact that these cymbals are a contributing factor. Cymbals are supposed to be very loud and cutting in a range which is generally not occupied by other sounds which would play at the same time.  People who buy these drums are generally on a budget

  Price:  These cymbals are not cheap. None are. A good ride cymbal should cost $250+ new. The ZBT costs $100+

Not worth your time, your hearing, or your money (+1 star for durability)
