 - Ryzen 3900X works, but the overclocking options are limited a bit by the dated bios. - Wifi 6 but the bios doesn't even use a wired connection, meaning updating the bios is a PITA. - While you have 2 M.2 slots, using either slot will disable your _56 SATA ports! - Manual/online docs are lacking any information on troubleshooting the problems I've encountered and do not provide proper mappings for each port on the board

I don't have time to really write a proper review for this at this time, but rest asured I will update this as I figure things out.  Pros: + Lots of features, including a magnetic wifi 6 antenna! + Works with Ryzen 3900X out-of-box. + 2 M.2 slots with covers and included mounting screws! + Great lighting design with support for LED strips

A very cool feature set for such a low price point, but there are some major flaws.

 You'Ll find a total of six four pin. Pwm fan headers on this motherboard, three of which are dedicated to chassis fans. The remaining four pin headers are for your cpu cooler, a cpu, optional header and an aio pump header. The iao pump connector is rather conveniently located by the rear chassis fan header

 The b550f gaming includes supreme fx 7.1 channel high definition audio using the s1220a codec according to the product site and manual. This coda comes loaded with a bunch of features such as impedance sense for front and rear headphone outputs, 120 db snr stereo playback output and 113 db. Snr recording input support for 32 bit 192 kilohertz playback, although this is not supported for 8 channel playback due to bandwidth limitations, dual op amps, which let you drive headphones with an impedance range of 32 to 600 ohms, if you're, an audiophile or just have expensive headphones

 Definitely would recommend to anyone looking to build a pc. Only bad thing is the price, for a b550 it’s in the same price range as x570. So depending on what prices are out there maybe an x570 wouldn’t be a bad option.

 I’d imagine most people would run hardwire but then again you wouldn’t be buying the WiFi version. All in all it’s a solid motherboard. Definitely would recommend to anyone looking to build a pc. Only bad thing is the price, for a b550 it’s in the same price range as x570

 This is an EMP risin book, so for it to actually have that talk about connector and on a mid-range bonus that that is quite something to see so overall would I recommend this bought to a customer?  This my first time using ASUS mobo and I could tell you their drivers and softwares are garbage. Do not use their hdd format feature in the bios unless you are sure your hdd is compatible. The warning comes after u format when you realize your hdd no longer works. The drivers are a pain to install

 I'm running with DOCP for the RAM's preferred timing and voltages. Yes, my memory is on the QVL.  Of course, with HCI MemTest I had to run it while Windows was up because I can't get the bootable USB to load. I've tried all sorts of solutions to disable UEFI and secure boot but nothing works

That will give you full speeds and the one towards the bottom is a PCIe gen3 m2 slot

For instance, on our battery test, the Zephyrus lasted more than 10 and a half hours, which means you can go through long lecture halls or stints at the library without plugging in (unless you're gaming, of course). The AMD Advantage model has a 16:10 aspect ratio to show a bit more text, spreadsheets or other work than prior versions.

And while it goes without saying on most laptops, Asus brought the webcam back to this model, for when you need to work remotely or collaborate with others from your dorm room.

Both GPUs can push high frame rates to provide smooth gameplay, even in AAA games running at the display's native QHD resolution. As for the display itself, it has a 120Hz refresh rate and a fast response time to deliver a clear image in fast-moving scenes, and it supports FreeSync to reduce screen tearing. The laptop is only available with 1TB of storage, which isn't very much considering modern AAA titles typically take up more than 100GB each; however, the SSD is user-upgradeable, so you can just put in a larger drive.

The keyboard feels comfortable to type on and provides satisfying tactile feedback, and there are plenty of ports for peripherals and external displays. Its 720p webcam is decent if you want to stream, and it supports Windows Hello facial recognition, meaning you can log in quickly. As for battery life, its 76Wh battery lasts through an entire day of light use, but for gaming, you can expect it to last only a little over an hour, so you'll need to use it plugged in most of the time. It gets hot and loud under load, although you can change the fan and thermal profile at the cost of some performance loss.

Another option is the HP OMEN 16 (2022). It's a great alternative if you want a larger 16-inch screen or prefer an Intel/NVIDIA system. It has a better port selection, including an Ethernet port and Thunderbolt 4 support, and it's more upgradeable than the ASUS as you can replace both memory modules, and there are two storage slots, whereas the ASUS only has one user-replaceable memory module and one storage slot. The display doesn't get very bright, so it might not be the best option if you often use the laptop in very well-lit settings.

If you don't want to spend too much on a premium laptop like the Apple MacBook Pro 16 (2021), check out the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 (2022). Yes, gaming laptops are excellent for video editing because there are many similarities for hardware requirements. It's particularly true with the G14, as it sports a sharp 16:10 QHD panel with full DCI P3 coverage. Its factory calibration is good, but you might want to fine-tune it before you do any color work. It has a powerful 8-core AMD Ryzen 9 6900HS CPU, and you can choose between an AMD Radeon RX 6700S or 6800S GPU, both of which have enough horsepower to handle video editing.

There are a few downsides you should know about. First, this laptop gets hot and loud under load; you can change the fan settings if it bothers you, but at the cost of some performance loss. Second, the battery lasts a little over an hour when performing demanding tasks like video editing and gaming, meaning you'll have to keep the charger close by. Third, the USB-C ports support USB 3.2 Gen 2 standards, which is much slower than USB4 or Thunderbolt 4. ASUS promised an update that will add USB4 support, but there's no word on the update. Overall, although it doesn't feel as premium as the Apple laptop we recommend above, it's still an excellent laptop for video editing, and it can also double as your gaming PC.
