When traveling I carry quite a bit of electronic stuff and what I like the most is the knowledge that once I have it packed and strapped onto my back, no one is going to get their creepy hands inside and give my valuables a new home.

Bag was comfortable and secure, travelled well around the city and doesn’t seem as big as it is. Highly recommend for travelers who want a lot of room but don’t want to check a bag. If you don’t have inserts of your own you might want to buy them to help maintain shape structure but overall highly recommended.

Oh, and that little slit on one of the straps for a bus pass or credit card or whatever else that fits? Well, I put my bus pass there, but I'm always afraid of it slipping out without me noticing because sometimes when I'm wearing it, the bus pass peeks out, and it feels like it's just a little bit away from falling out. Maybe a zipper or something would've helped with that.

Though the Osprey had a better harness/waist strap system, but for the size of bag, the Tortuga's removable waist straps works just fine. Most times I don't even use the waist straps unless I know I will be walking for over 20+ minutes. Plus, the Osprey is unable to stand upright on its own (due to not having a flat bottom) and the Tortuga can. Thus, making it easy to put the bag down on the floor when not carrying it

Not bad overall, using this as my everyday carry bag, and I would recommend this to those that ride on subways/metros a lot. Definitely gives a feeling of safety in a packed train.

I hopped on and off buses, the subway, and walked around. I’m 62 years old and the Tortuga bag is a game changer.

Two years ago we bought my daughter an Elle for her trip to Malaysia because of its security features,But my wife was so impressed with the design and quality that she ordered one for herself So happy was she with them that a year later we bought another one to leave at our holiday home but unfortunately we had some issues with wear on the straps, but after contacting XD this issue was resolved quickly and efficiently

Pluses: holds a lot, carries a 17" laptop, 3 locking compartments, load levelling straps really work well, sternum strap is movable! Minuses: hip pad, shoulder pads could be better (very good but not great), mesh back would vent off sweat
