Again the cure is simple; carry 2 spares. The Z7 comes with two ways to recharge its batteries, meaning you can be charging two of them at once while not using the camera. Even when you ARE using the camera, the other charger needs only 2 hours and 35 minutes to completely recharge a drained battery. For memory, I went with a Sony 128GB XQD card, rather than a 256GB one, primarily because a firmware update is expected to make the Z7 usable with much faster CFast memory cards in about six months

It's the lightest X series camera with built-in stabilization, a plus for handheld photography, and it includes 4K recording and a front-facing screen for vloggers. The Fujifilm X-S10 is what I'd consider a good no-compromise starting point, and that's £995 over here in the UK with only one lens. Below that the micro four thirds options start to look like better value as hybrids, e.g. Olympus E-M5 and Panasonic G9, and I'm not sure that would give you what you want by way of an upgrade from your GX80

While it's a nice headphone sound and design wise, it's hard to justify the asking price. It's (in my opinion) amp picky, and it doesn't get to sounding it's best until it's paired with the Sony TAZH1ES amplifier. I find that it's a bit ridiculous to ask people to pay nearly 4 grand to experience a headphone that doesn't out perform anything from the Audeze line, and sits in B tier when it comes to closed back cans.

DPReview has called out(Opens in a new window) this deficiency, which isn't exclusive to the Z 7. Other mirrorless camera systems, including models from Fujifilm and Sony, also don't work with IR focus assist. There is some speculation that a flash projecting a green grid, like the color of the Z 7's assist beam, would speed up autofocus in very dim light, and be less distracting than a bright assist beam.

I'm nowhere near UL, even without camera stuff, but I'll weigh in: I've been taking a Nikon Z7 (1.49 lbs) and a Nikkor Z 24-70mm F/4 (1lb 1 oz), so basically 2lb 9 oz., on all my backpacking trips using the PD clip attached to my strap, and the weight hasn't bothered me at all. But again, not a UL guy, I'm typically carrying like 35lbs in my pack so maybe it's because that weight is a drop in the bucket compared to my overall pack weight, whereas if you're adding that weight to a 12-15lb pack it might feel more substantial, I couldn't really say
