This backpack by Osprey is very well made but keep in mind this is a laptop backpack. It’s not going to take a lot and I am quite disappointed with the size. It’s long but thin. Zipper doesn’t go all around because of the bottle pocket will not allow for this

Our tester stands a solid 511, and while the 21 liter makes for a great fit, the larger 26 liter model can be a bit long depending on the size of your torso

Not a full zip-around, but great for intraday use

 I imagine the carabiner on the right shoulder strap could come in handy to secure it to a chair or stroller when out in public and not wearing it on my back.

 I think this is due to the how little this protrudes away from your back, and the ridged foam back panel that gives it a nice flat surface that comfortably rests on your back. (pic of empty backpack staying flat when I’m holding it up horizontally) Photos are for size and volume. I do not have the best lighting, and the backpack looks much nicer in person. Also, in most photos, I left the water bottles in the outer pocket, which gives makes the backpack look uncharacteristically lumpy

  For the sake of this review and photos, I tried to fill the bag up to show what can fit. Even then, it was still very comfortable, definitely did not feel the weight like I would when using any other backpack I own. Great build quality, looks nice, minimal and slim despite the fact that it fits way more than it looks like it does. Great laptop and secondary laptop/iPad sleeve inside. Water resistant material, great ergonomics and spaces/pockets inside. Feels good on the back too

RiutBag: Secure Backpacks for Greater Journeys

 Although there aren't lash straps per se to um to hold that thing in there securely uh one of the things i do want to point this out and and clearly this is just a manufacturing era. Uh. When riot bag sent this bag to me, it was actually missing one of the buttons. So it looks like the button popped off of here and so there's no way to clip this little tab to the uh the male side

 So, let's take a look at what you would do to make this bag smaller, so that it can actually shrink down to something that you might consider using as an everyday carry. So i don't know if i'm getting this exactly right, but one of the things you want to do is unclip this area right here. These clips are going to be very important in the process of holding the bag together here and then these load lifters that you see right here, you're also going to unclip them because you're going to have a new load. Lifter attachment point

2 inch size ipads, as well as a 13 inch macbook pro, which fits right in there, and these. This is a fully padded pocket and it's lifted off the ground as well tremendously, so that you can easily you don't have to worry about putting the bag down and having it impact your laptop so nice tech container here and then, let's shift into what is the Main compartment you'll see that there's this mesh here, this mesh divider sort of like a suitcase, has, and you can unzip this - you don't have to have this. You can actually roll this thing up and there's even conveniently enough a nice little a button and loop here that will allow it to sort of hold against itself and i've just stuck a pillow in here just to fill the volume. So you can see how much size there is here, so i'm just going to get rid of that pillow

 Why that's the case in just a moment when this gets collapsed and then you have what looks to be a set of lash straps across the top here and in fact they aren't really because they are it's stitched down right here and right here, and this actually Becomes part of the process that you use to shrink this bag down and then, when we take a look at the bag, this is where all the action on the back. This is where the action takes place here really nicely padded and shaped shoulder straps here fully adjustable, obviously, and a sternum strap also adjustable one of the things that i really appreciate that riot bag puts in here. Is they have these little these catchers? These? It'S essentially a piece of an elastic loop that elegantly holds on to any of the excess amount of strap. That would be normally hanging off your bag, and so it keeps it nice and tidy and anytime

And finally, this amazing base material, which is so durable and sturdy, and you can throw your riot bag down anywhere on that material. So getting to the back panel, which is where all the action happens on a riot bag. You'Ve got the top pocket which enables you to access objects relatively quickly

 I generally don't need, is quick access to those, as I would for some other stuff. So I keep those in this patch and then I've got these USB ease at which I keep in here and those I'm doing it to more readily available. This bike kind of crushes here and the adviser says we just sit this up. So it's fully closed right now I need to grab one of those USBs

 It'S pilot against your back and what's also really cool. Is this Center pad here? This actually lives there, and the idea behind this is that if you have a travel case you're carrying luggage and it's one of those kind of cases of handle that pulls out in some wheels, you can actually slide this over the handle and you can carry this On your table case that so you don't have to carry it on your back. I thought that was just a really nice touch. So if we get into this section here is this compartment in here, and it is designed for your laptop if they say it takes up to a 15 inch laptop

 It is just in either side. You'Ve got a pocket just right here and the left-hand side pocket here at the right hand side, so you can put like a water bottle or whatever you want in there, and if we close this back down, there's what they call a deep pocket here, call the Deepest shaped like a D, it opens up and there's two inner pockets here, so you can keep your phone, your keys, your wallet. I usually keep my access card for work, better batteries from a camera on my keys all in this pocket here. This is quite heavily padded, this section here when it's on your back, so it's really comfortable, particularly if you've got a pocket on a laptop at a holler up here, that's quite heavy

 Another tiny pocket here, which I completely forgot to mention. Is this pocket here? It'S just a small little pocket right in the top of the bike, and you can keep your sunglasses or I keep my sunglasses in there and I think that's pretty much what that's for I want to put these on there just so you can see how they Work so there's a little rail on the strap just here and that's it there and there's a little flat point right at the very top of that. So the way it works is the rail. This little plastic clip just slides in over the flat part like so you'd force it down, and it will then be attached to the bike that goes both side

 Now I'm not one for like gimmicky bags and I will say this isn't a gimmick, it's very well made, it's an actual bag, but our tricks here are this. First of all, everything on this bag is accessed through this back panel, okay? What that means is no little roaming fingers can get into your bag, like you don't ever have to worry about the person behind you on the subway or in the train or that crowded marketplace in Milan. What is up with these Italians always trying to get into my bag? I had my bag stolen from me in Milan at a Starbucks and the barista there helped me go find it and get it back from the gentleman in the wheelchair, not sure what that says about my masculinity, but, or my intelligence as a traveler, this was a long time ago, so nothing can get, nobody can get in. All of the things are accessible right here through the back of the bag

 We've got Cordura, a very like sturdy, uh, durable and water resistant material here. YKK zippers. Lots of really thick fatty mesh back here, which feels quite nice, uh, as you use it. Number four, this is a kind of a delightful aesthetic
