  I am not new to Gregory packs but I wanted something with a capacity between my Maya 16 and a 12 year old Jade 35 that went trekking far and high. After I tried it in the store it seemed to fit well.  But I wasn't crazy about the back panel.  I guess this pack has a frame, but I didn't like the design of that frame so much (the frame panel above the shoulders)

  There is nothing wrong stopping when we feel we need some water.  Stopping is, and has always been, a way to relax on the trail.  I do not understand the obsession with non-stop walking and a need for taking sips from a tube.  I get it, some people do like this technology, but this pack should have offered the option for carrying decent water bottle for those who dislike being intubated!

  I don't feel, and have never felt a need to sip and so called "hydrate on the go".  I have gone on very tough climbs and treks and I don't mind stopping for water.  There is nothing wrong stopping when we feel we need some water.  Stopping is, and has always been, a way to relax on the trail

Unlike other people complaining about size, features and dimensions, this pack is really all you need for a 3 season (and light 4 season if you don't need campons/ice axe) day hike.  This pack carries a load very well, which I give credit to the harness/suspension/frame design.  The only downside (hence 4 stars) is the top zippered pocket isn't large enough to put an easily accessible first aid kit in there.  My phone, emergency blanket, compass, extra candy bars, etc

I bought this backpack after researching several others and chose it for the reviews on a comfortable fit and the higher amount of pockets for storage that it has.  I wasn't disappointed.  I have already hiked 25 miles with it in just two weeks and I love the fit. I don't even realize I am wearing it most of the time, it is that comfortable

  Only thing I do not like is the hip belt zipper.  I can not close it completely with one hand and it seems like simply making the zipper straight instead of rounded would fix it.  The round zipper seams like it is more for aesthetics than function.

 Note: even though my Samsung S9+ with a thin case would fit inside the side pocket when the pocket is lying flat, they wouldn't fit when worn on the body due to the curved nature of the waist line.  Con: this is a major one for me. The shoulder straps are uncomfortable: the end of the padded straps and the buckles form a hard bulge that rub against my inner upper arms and side breast area, right below the armpits. I have never experienced this with other Gregory day packs before

 The back mesh support frame is superb and rare for hiking pack this size. Weight is on the heavy side but not as heavy as similarly ventilated packs of this size on the market, and once properly fitted it doesn't feel heavy at all, even when fully loaded. No zigzag compression straps on the side mesh bottle pockets which is a huge plus. On my Osprey pack I have to remove them because all they do is getting in the way

 Something about the shape/length of the padded shoulder straps didn't work out for me. They curve too much toward my armpits compared to my Osprey pack. If it's slightly forward a bit I probably wouldn't feel the bulge. I have only worn the pack indoors

 It has two exterior pockets for umbrellas or water bottles. Okay, they are just fastened in island. There is no waterproof lining in this one, so you have one on each side and they fit the slimmer Klean Kanteen bottles, not the really wide stuff. So a slimmer bottle, half liter to 700 mil fits really well, and this one's same as a small folding umbrella down

 A simple flap over here would really just solve the problem. You can so a slap of thousand d with the sailcloth inside which just simply overhangs this pocket just overhangs the zipper right, simple flap that overhangs the zipper line with the sailcloth, so it's waterproof would really solve that problem. For me, it filled up so my tissues and ginga got the bath yeah. Of course, i didn't have any thing valuable in there

 It'S a water-resistant compartment because the zipper is a water resistant, but not waterproof. If I can to you by closes a little bit here. Sorry about the unprofessional work here, but, as you see it doesn't have any overlapping. It'S a simple

 Luckily enough, but still it was full of water in this pouch after waiting for the bus and walking a few miles and rain. So yeah, that's something to consider something to be aware of. You really need to address this issue, but other than that, i'm really happy with the bag is a really good bag. Pricing is kind of what you expect

 Every time you put on the bag the shoulder strap tangles itself up due to the lack of structure. The other thing is the inside of the bag is so barren unless you purchase a laptop sleeve or organize to velcro on. Would be nice if it had a simple pocket and a thin foam pad to protect your back and add a little structure.
