 Weave the zipper pull through the loop, and pull the zipper to the top. That’ll make it a little harder for a thief to zip this pocket open and grab everything inside quickly.

We also want to note that the zipper to this compartment is more forward-sitting on the bag. By this, we mean that it’s not positioned directly in the middle of the top of the bag where it is on many packs. This isn’t a huge issue; we’ve just found ourselves reaching in the wrong spot for the zipper now and then during testing. It’’s taken some getting used to and is worth a mention

 but all right, so then we'll flip it over. Talk a little bit about this harness system where I think this bag really excels. So as you can see here on the back panel there's mesh that pretty much covers the entire thing. Sometimes bags just kind of have like a pant like a smaller panel here and a panel here and then sometimes a panel here, but this stretches all the way down and it covers really the entire area of your back that the bag sits against

 As for like the padding on the shoulder straps there, there's a little bit as you can see it's not very cushy, it's more stiff but we found it to be, you know, well structured and supportive. Despite that it it still felt nice while we were testing and felt comfortable. So again, we love to see that brands are taking a more sustainable approach. I'm sure the planet is happy, just as happy as we are

 As you can see, it's separated into these two sleeves. So we've been keeping a laptop in here, which it can fit up to a 15-inch laptop. and then there's also a shallower sleeve on the side which you can put a tablet in and that is suspended so you're protected against any accidental drops. or when the bag is getting shuffled around and your tech is inside getting a shuffle around with it

 It definitely is on theme with the pack, so it hasn't been like it's not an eyesore or anything like that. But if you prefer more subtle branding like what you would see on an air pack, for example, you might not be the biggest fan of this. We haven't found it to be like a huge issue and then we're going to talk about this laptop compartment. Also, while we're up here, there is a quick grab handle here too as well

Gregory Resin 26 Backpack Review (2 Weeks of Use)

  I have other Gregory packs for backpacking but did not look at them for commuting bags.  Over all I am very happy with the pack and expect to get many years out of it.

  I like the top access for the computer so if you forget to zip it, the computer does not slip out the side and fall to ground(like my old pack).  The back straps are large enough to distribute the weight of a fully loaded pack but not so large that they add bulk or get in the way when not in use.  I like the top strap and the front pocket hand strap is something I have not seen and although I have not used it a lot it seems it would be helpful when trying to retrieve a file or something out of the main pocket because it opens the access area.  The pack I have is the all black

Great Commuter bag

  The quality of the construction and the materials are fantastic.  It is perfect for carrying stuff to your workouts, commuting, picnics at the park, etc. It is also a wonderful travel bag as a carryon.  The laptop compartment is great and there's lots of room for a few days worth of clothes

  I REALLY love that it maintains its form when it's not full. You can open the main compartment and easily see what's inside.  Be aware that this is not a technical pack.  You will not be using it for mountaineering or skiing

I bought this bag for day hikes, as I've covered more than a thousand miles this year, and my faithful bag from the last ten years is barely holding together. BUT—I picked up this bag in a hurry on my way to work a week ago (couldn't find my regular commuter) and may never go back. The tight laptop sleeve fits my computer like a glove. Best part of my daily commute

 One star off because it is almost the same size as my 32L brand "P" bag and a 32L brand "J" bag but this is supposed to be a 26L. So beware that it may be bigger than you think.

With COVID travel restrictions, I am limited to short weekend trips within the state. The separate laptop compartment is long enough to fit my 26" old travel laptop. The main compartment is separate from the laptop compartment which is nice. As my previous backpack from a different maker puts the laptop compartment all the way to the back and the only way to access that compartment is via the main compartment

  Straps are comfortable and size is great.  My only negative is the chest strap - it's in a fixed position that for me rides a bit too high.  I would prefer that it could slide lower.

Got this in the black, well constructed as expected with Patagonia. Only reason I gave it a 4 stars. Is the black on the model is none of the colors as advertised for sale It's straight black or blue as not shown on body. Great bag though, many trips could be had with this backpack

It's well constructed typical Patagonia quality, but much wider than thought. Probably good for wetsuit and stuff but a bit too big for a daypack for canoe camping.
