While the Razer was a definite underperformer, I also would have expected the Omen to finish a little further ahead of the MSI and its older (and lower-clocked) 8th Generation Core i7 chip. The Acer and Digital Storm did better with the same CPU as the Omen.

 It's a recipe for the smoothest gaming experience in town, especially in our review guise with an 8GB RTX 2070 and a six-core Intel Core i7 processor. The Omen's sturdy construction, dedicated gaming macro keys, and Thunderbolt 3 port help set it apart, though its cooling fans are loud and it stumbles by not offering a high-end configuration with customizable per-key backlighting. Its reasonable pricing helps take the sting out of those downsides, positioning the Omen 17 as a good buy among big-screened gaming rigs.

3-inch gamer we've tested, the MSI GS75 Stealth. Then again, the extra weight might not be all that bad with the right backpack. I'd argue the Omen 17 deserves some forgiveness; the Stealth and other thin and light contenders such as the Razer Blade Pro 17 employ less thermally demanding components (mainly Nvidia's Max-Q GPUs), and thus don't need as much chassis real estate to dissipate heat.

The HP trailed the Acer and Digital Storm in Fire Strike despite sharing the same CPU and GPU, indicating the slight deficiencies we saw in the earlier CPU tests may have followed it here. However, our next test, Unigine Superposition, doesn't rely on the processor as much and the HP had no problem catching up. This benchmark uses a different rendering engine for a second opinion on a PC's graphics performance.

Exactly what I was looking for: an ultrabook level laptop which can handle anything you throw at it! Thin, light, and sleek, but under the hood, packs a Ryzen 7 5800H and an RTX 3060 with 100W TGP, and advanced optimus (aka, the mux switch).

Overall, a great buy if you want a light laptop with excellent performance, capable of playing AAA games at maxed out graphics!

4) Corsair software drains battery: was surprised to see the laptop drawing >15W of power in idling, when the CPU Package only was drawing 2-5W. Tried disabling the Corsair services, and now getting fantastic battery life: 4-8W power when idling and mild web browsing, with occasional hikes to 12W during Youtube playback. Easily lasts more than 5 hours, and PassMark BatteryMon actually estimates 12-15 hours of total time!!

2) Powerful performance (Time Spy scores: 8125 GPU, 8912 CPU on performance); Was getting 70-90 FPS on Horizon Zero Dawn with all settings at max in native 1080p resolution.

The Lenovo legion slim 7 is a great product. It has a nice/responding keyboard and an efficient layout. The fingerprint reader is also a nice touch. One minor issue I have with this laptop is it's battery life

The port selection is also limited, however, I appreciate the fact Lenovo shipped this computer with an additional USB C adapter

Got it too, as a result of getting sick of waiting for the Legion 7 with 3070 to be available in my country. The more i use it, the more I'm feeling is a really good value for the money. Got it on discount for around 1500 euro, which is a very good deal considering the laptop prices in my country now. Even more so: The European version comes with faster RAM contrary to the the slower ones, which are used in the US versions of the Advantage Edition and the Lenovo 5 Pro

Ended up getting the rog strix g15 advantage edition. Couldn’t pass up on this value.
