Lenovo Legion 5 pro RTX 3070: $1959, Needs new RAM for best performance. With a 32GB RAM it costs ~$2130.

My personal list of best gaming laptops in various categories. Hopefully it’s helpful for those looking for a new laptop this year.

The L5P has already reduced in price in less than a week imagine where it will be after a month or two. Also availability will definitely improve as lenovo hopes to sell as much units as possible especially in the us & other american/european countries to equal the hype that has surrounded their gaming laptop line for 2021.

WHY YOU SHOULDN'T PURCHASE THE LEGION 5 PRO (L5P) NOW

 Its not functional. There are tons of dead spots on it plus it ghost registers 1 sometimes 2 finger inputs. I love this laptop but theres no permanent fix for the trackpad which makes the laptop underperform. Sadly im returning it this week

Run all games nicely on ultra settings. Fans keep relatively quiet to other gaming laptops. Decent thermals comparatively to other laptops.

 Sure the computer comes with the correct GPU and CPU. The description says it is at 3200mhz which it is actually at 2667mhz see screenshots. Not only that but I only got 32gbs of ram compared to the 64gbs I paid for. On top of that you remember the laptop saying 165hz refresh rate? That's actually an April Fools joke as well because both the windows setting and nvidia control panel both have it locked at 60hz and CANNOT be changed

I bought the 64gb ram with 2tb edition. Got the computer today and wanted to check to make sure I got everything I paid for. Sure the computer comes with the correct GPU and CPU. The description says it is at 3200mhz which it is actually at 2667mhz see screenshots

Hi all. In about 8 days I will fly out to Naples Italy and join a study abroad program called Semester at Sea that will sail through and stop at a bunch of different European Ports. I have bought the new go pro 10 to document my adventure and put together vlogs for youtube, and I am starting to get fairly comfortable using the camera and switching between the appropriate presets. 

Here is where I need help: I am in dire need of a new laptop as I have been using the HP Pavilion 360 on Windows 10 for the past 4 years. I tried uploading new go-pro footage to my laptop using the USB cable, but it appears my computer has trouble playing, downloading, and even recognizing video that is in 4k or 5.3 k.  As I look at getting a new laptop, is there any model, in particular that will allow me to use, view, and download all this 4k footage? Keep in mind I don't have thousands of dollars left to spend as I have already gone all out to save for this expensive trip and buy the new go pro, but I will do what is necessary to make all this work. Is my current laptop just old and I am overthinking this, or does anyone have a good idea for what I should be looking for (preferably windows) to support this beautiful footage?

My second question pertains a little more directly to video editing. My experience with video editing comes mostly with making funny videos, creating sports highlight clips for my friends, and just putting together old home videos to make funny spinoffs of movie trailers and pop culture references. I have always used wonder share filmora but I'm curious if that program will support my 4k video and or if I should switch programs. Long term I want to transition to a better program but for now I'm content with wondershare if it will support 4 and 5 k on a newer laptop.  I think I may have potential to one day be really good at video editing, but my basic understanding with a lot of this stuff is still at a very raw level right now. Any and all advice would be appreciated.

The price only applies in-store at Micro Center, but even if you spend up to $200 more online, it's still reasonable: Asus' comparably equipped TUF Gaming F15 commands $1,399 on Amazon.
