If you plan to take this thing on a serious hike or haul a bunch of needed equipment, I recommend the bigger sizes MR offers. This is almost slightly larger than my one strap sling bag I wear around on weekends when taking the kids to the mall or movies

Plus, our last trip, my daughter took an older model Half Dome pack that was not a perfect fit but a great size capacity for her gear. This one was too small for that same amount of weight/gear. Maybe we just need to get her smaller gear tho.

Used this for a few short hikes and it was comfortable even after several miles. Would’ve liked a few more internal pockets to keep some thing separated but, overall, it’s a great comfortable pack. It’s still new so I can’t speak for the durability but it seems well-made.

A lot of the problems are related to weight savings, which makes sense for a hiking like day pack.

when loaded down, no matter the amount, I couldn't get the bag to be comfortable. I am a broad shouldered gentleman, and I had consistent shoulder pain after carrying the bag for half an hour every time no matter what I had loaded. I messed with the load lifters and all other straps and couldn't get it to work for me at all. I may try the 24 to see if it works better, as the bag seems a little taller and wider, but as of now I can't give a full recommendation for the 21

All told, I don’t think it’s a great EDC bag due to the awkwardness of getting in it as much as you might need, and even a different color doesn’t necessarily have the look of an office appropriate EDC. Still, for comfort and construction, it’s an excellent backpack.

My favorite size pack for my lifestyle day to day. MR hit it out of the park on this one!

This pack allowed her to comfortably carry the ten essentials, her down sleeping bag, a cut-down pad, her clothes, and a stuffed cat she sleeps with (in the outside pocket so Kitty could take in the views). The pack is very well made and comfortable. It’s a “real” pack that’s scaled down where many kids packs are frankly junk. I’m impressed by the design features, materials and build quality

My only gripe, which I don't know how much of a gripe it is, the zippers are stiff and get caught often. It is not because they are cheap, it is because they are extra heavy duty. I'm hoping they break-in, and stop doing this.

1. The small internal pocket design is horrible, if you put something too long in there, the bag may not close or you get your stuff bent. The design allow users to make mistakes.

It has plenty of pockets and storage. The main pocket is large and has a place to hand a water bladder. There are plenty of little storage places around the pack to put all the gear I would need for most outings. I like the way it fit and it was easy to adjust to fit my shoulders and waist
