Samsung 13.3-Inch Galaxy Chromebook vs Toshiba Chromebook 2 CB35-C3350

I'm comparing this to my Chromebook Pixel and it lacks a lot. Update March 2022. The screen quality isn't that high to explain why the battery runs out so fast. The screen not closing all the way against the case in tablet mode remains a big problem in terms of usability

Battery : Possibly the most dissapointing part of the chromebook, I almost hope that I did not properly charge the battery as the on time I saw out of the laptop ( with medium brightness and backlighting ) was no where near the 11 hours promised. This was also paired with the extremely inacurate battery time predictions - 100% with 3 hours left was far from the norm, and the time actualy *increased* as the batterly went down - leaving me doughtfull of the software behind the predictions - toshiba, up your game. 3/10. Screen : Again a stunning desplay from toshiba

thee keyboard and track pad are unbelievable and it is wicked fast. my work involves fairly large google spreadsheets and my galaxy chromebook never fails to impress. fingerprint reading is the only way to go, and the backlit keyboard is better than any i've ever used. i'd buy it again, in a heartbeat, thank you samsung for this great product

Keyboard is reasonably comfortable. However, will take some getting used to because layout is slightly different than traditional keyboard layout found on laptop PCs. No ALL CAPS key, instead a "search" key in its place. I would cautiously recommend this device to other people looking for a good Chromebook

Finally, to test a Chromebook's battery, we loop a 720p video file with screen brightness set at 50%, audio volume at 100%, and Wi-Fi and keyboard backlighting disabled until the system quits. If there isn't enough internal storage to hold the video, we play it from an external SSD plugged into a USB port.

In comparison, the Asus Chromebook Flip has a 1.8GHz Rockchip RK3288C ARM CPU (a lower-price and less-powerful processor), and 4GB of memory. The Core i3 CPU helps the system boot up and load quickly. It's not a processing powerhouse, but for an affordable Chrome OS laptop that will mostly browse the Web, stream video, and run a few applications, it's plenty fast

be careful when handling this chomebook as there is nothing on the device to stop the glass from hitting the frame of the device when closed. if you carry the device with the screen shut, you run the risk of pressing the screen up against the frame which in my case led to a crack in the glass. there should be either a lip around the screen or some kind of rubber stopper to prevent this contact but there is none. i am going to try to get it fixed under warranty but i doubt they will cover the damage cause by this design flaw

not up to standard IMO. Amazon, please take note! That said, all is working fine, so call this a pass on the initial durability test. Like the three little bears, I wanted something just the right size.

This allowed air to constantly be under the laptop. Did it help? No. If you are intending to use this for several hours straight, you need to invest in a base which has a fan blowing cool air onto the bottom. This means the portabiity just went out the window

It turns on with medium CPU power usage like 1080p youtube videos, and when it does it makes this nice and alarming MOTOR sound. The MOTOR sound sounds just like there is actually some hair stuck in it, which makes the fan work harder. With this fan discrepancy I'm afraid that something on the computer will give-out before its average life expectancy. One more tidbit: Even though the screen is only 1080p, this thing motors through 1440p video like nothing, with multiple youtube tabs opened playing the same resolution; I tested it :) I am returning it reluctantly and with one caveat: If the fan didn't make that noise and the track pad was as it should be, I would NEVER consider returning this pretty sweet machine

I ordered chromebook for very light use, such as drawing out ideas for art projects and sometimes doing searches for materials and orders without having to be at my desk constantly. It is nice looking, I love the red, I liked that it is aluminum and not plastic. The touch screen isn't up to standards for me. When I am switching between apps swiping up seems to take a few attempts at least

though more on that later. The device is light and very portable. The construction feels very good, with maybe a slight knock on the plastic used for the casing

A more practical workaround is using a cooling pad or pairing a mouse to keep working when the trackpad isn't. For my use case, I can live with the issue as I really enjoy viewing photographs or videos on such an amazing display but your mileage will vary.

-There are trackpad “dead zones.” On both sides, there are half-inch vertical strips where the trackpad does not work. Took me a few weeks to notice, definitely a bummer. -Opening this Chromebook is difficult

I have had this chromebook for almost 2 years. The first year was great. I took notes with the stylus and it was fast and did what I needed it to do for school. However, the second year after some updates I have had so much trouble with the touchpad bugging out

The touchpad itself is awesome, but the physical click is like there's a marshmallow underneath the touch pad with a tooth pick jammed in it, and you have to break the toothpick in order to click. I mean, the physical click is really mushy and the click is so unsatisfying. Now that I think about it, breaking a tooth pick inside of a marshmallow would feel a lot more satisfying than the way this click feels. Anyway, for how good the hardware of this Chromebook is, it really disappoints me that the touchpad doesn't have a really nice clean click

Performance: This thing is a BEAST. There's arguably no need for an Intel i5 in a Chromebook, but here we are, and the thing is FAST. Scrolling is smooth and even with tons of tabs open I've never experienced lag when playing videos or games. With lots going on under the hood, and no fan, I've heard mention from others that the computer can get really hot under heavy loads - I've barely experienced this while using a decent amount of processing power, and would elaborate that when I did feel heat it was very minor and not unbearable by any means
