Sennheiser HD 250BT vs Sennheiser PXC 550-II

From a visual standpoint, the black HD 250BT headphones have an understated cool about them. Sennheiser keeps things simple and functional, and the result is fairly stylish. The supra-aural (on-ear) cups manage to create a reliable seal against the outside world, with padding that may not feel plush, but is firm and helps prove a stable fit.

They're so comfortable and now it's time to upgrade due to wear and tear plus modern tech. I don't want to get the II with micro USB and BT4.2 when 5+ is available. ​

These look nice on paper, but after actually getting them didn't really like them. The ear foam design is right in between two different styles, they sit on the ear, but the foam style is an over the ear type, which to me didn't sit comfortably on my ears. They feel weird because of that. They sleek design I did like it overall, but not enough to keep them

Overall, find them usable, but for a $200 set of headphones I think they could be more comfortable. Just as comparison my old Senheiser HD-428, in my opinion, are more comfortable. Not taking into consideration weight as the ANC and other functionality in these likely add to the weight, but judging these on the earpads comfort and pressure they impose. Noise cancellation: Noise cancellation seems to work well on full for my use case, to listen to music while in a room with a TV on

Nice tight base without booming, good midrange and defined treble. Did not want active noise canceling phones so the 250 fit the bill. They do a good job of passive noise suppression, exactly what I wanted. Actually pretty small and light weight so they are comfortable to wear

I think that there are a few complaints I have, including the first one is that the EQ is not really what I was looking for in the app. I wish I could...

I saw early this week that the HD 250 BT was on sale for $39.95 and gave it a try. It feels a bit flimsy but the sound is really great for my purposes - which is listening to audible books when I walk. My PX 100 II is now my backup - I use this set-up most of the time

THE TRICK IS TO INSURE THAT ALL PAIRED BLUETOOTH DEVICES ARE OFF, PRIOR TO PAIRING A NEW DEVICE. It's a pain. But the PXC-550-II CAN be paired with two devices and those devices CAN be changed later, but only if all currently connected Bluetooth devices are OFF or out of range of the headphones, at the time. You can also plug these headphones into an airline audio jack and listen via hard-wire

need exists for a headband cushion- soundstage well below the standard set by other Sennheiser products- sound is somewhat inferior to the MM100 head set, a much older and slightly more expensive product no longer being manufactured- Sennheiser has been and still is my favorite headphone maker, but this product is very disappointing.

Calls sound fine from the Sennheiser end. The bad: No noise cancellation, something that lesser brands specializing in BT are doing in this price range (Cowin, Bluedio, and JLab, none of whom are real competitors to Sennheiser's top line) Zero weather protection. Sennheiser PXC 550-II are the best value in wireless over-ear headphones. Much more neutral sound out of the box than the XM3 or XM4.

I went on Sennheiser's website to check out warranty coverage, and they don't even list this model!! Clicked their site button to contact warranty support team and it sent me into the internet ether world. I had a Sennheiser a few years ago that was also reasonably price, but those headphones lasted almost three years. VERY DISAPPOINTING. Should've gone with a more expensive but more reliable headphone

Decided to claim my warranty and thought I would ask for a refund or if they don't allow it get a new pair and sell it off to someone and buy a pair of Sony XM4's. The problem is that when I claimed my warranty they had no pairs of PXC 550's left and gave me a pair of PXC 550 II's for no extra charge (!). But now I'm indecisive. Should I sell on these PXC 550 II's and buy a pair of XM4's?

Battery life is good. But in terms of sound nothing special. A pair of wired $30 “hd” headphones from the same brand sound better. Add them to the heap of just ok headphones
