The only difference I have heard is that you can customize your own better and cost differences but I still don’t know the difference.

Can anyone give me a clear difference between a prebuilt and building your own pc?

 Download the DDU (Display driver uninstaller) program. 2. Boot Windows 10 in Safe Mode (not straightforward, search for steps) 3. Run DDU in Safe Mode and uninstall your Intel and nVidia display driver

 This is an ideal machine for someone (like me) who wants high quality PC gaming without the fuss and hassle of constant upgrading or tweaking of standalone components.  If anybody has any questions or feedback for this review, please let me know in the comments!  UPDATE#1 6/5/17: The nVidia GTX 1060 card just fritzed on me, giving me a "code 43" error. No combination of rebooting, uninstalling/reinstalling hardware or drivers has been successful. So I have initiated a warranty return and service

 4. Re-install the drivers hosted on Acer's Helios 300 support site for the Intel and nVidia displays. 5. Set Windows 10 to "Hide" updates for those display drivers (also not straightforward, search for "How to Uninstall and Block Updates and Drivers on Windows 10

Don't say your laptop isn't as good as others or it's not much. Whatever you have is perfect for you and is the best. Period.

 I keep hitting the up arrow instead. Just writing this review is getting annoying.  Does not have G Sync which is a bit of a bummer but for the price it is not that bad. Also, I don't really care about it that much

  Update 6/13/17 Decided to return the laptop. I enjoyed it alot when it was working. Unfortunately you need the very specific nvidia driver from ACER. You cannot update to the newest

 I will update this as I run across things that I like and don't like to much. Pros:  The price for these specs is just unrivaled. I have been looking for a laptop with these specs for a reasonable price and nothing has even come close. If you look at laptops in the price range they either have a 1050, which is crap, or a 1060 with 3g, which is also crap

 Why I consider this to be a con is because when gaming it will need to be plugged it. Since I plan to game with it more than anything else that battery is going to get wrecked by having it plugged in 24/7.  Update 6/13/17 Decided to return the laptop. I enjoyed it alot when it was working

 Unfortunately you need the very specific nvidia driver from ACER. You cannot update to the newest. Windows also tried to update it for you so the graphics cards keeps crashing pr not enabling. Would consider again if the issue gets resolved but as of now it isn't worth the constant hassle

Amazing for price

Professional-Looking Laptop for School and Gaming

 When you use UserBenchmark online it bencmarks the built in Intel graphics only and after the test it tells you how to actually benchamrk the 1060.  Great gaming laptop with a few catches. Plenty of power to play any games you want to play . It does have a few issues though

QUICK NOTE!!! A reviewer on here gave it one star because their "benchmark" stated it had Intel HD Graphics and not an Nvidia 1060 6GB. When you do day to day tasks like web browsing and watching videos the laptop is only using the on board graphics, the GPU doesn't kick on until you fire up a video game or GPU demanding tasks. This is within my budget without breaking the bank too much. It's an Acer Predator Helios 300.

Are these future proof specs?

Fast and sturdy, but doesn't vent heat well.  Poor packaging by amazon.

And after loads of waiting Times, returning the faulty acer predator. Here I am with a HP Omen 15, amd it has been my best decision. I friggin love this piece of Machinery.

The Aorus 15G XC, for example, could be an alternative to the Predator. In terms of price, it's on par with the Acer laptop, but it delivers more CPU performance overall thanks to the built-in octa-core processor.
