Load temperatures dropped nearly 10C across the board between runs, bringing the CPU to 73-75C and peaking at 81C rather than the 90's. TL;DR:. The STRIX G15 Advantage Edition is a fantastic value and is quite capable after a RAM swap despite its poor thermal performance.

Keyboard felt great, almost as good as the legendary Thinkpad keebs!. Battery life with 60Hz at 60% brightness on Hybrid mode was showing around 7 hours with light browsing and music playing in the background and Slack. Expect 5.5 to 7.5 hours depending on how aggressive or conservative you are with use. Performance was nearly identical to the numbers that JarrodsTech found after his RAM swap, which I also did (I had a 64GB OLOY kit with better secondary subtimings that I used for testing).

CPU-only loads have respectable temperatures, but starts to falter in dual-loads due to sharing heatpipes with a 165W-capable 3080 16GB, even with a repaste. GPU undervolting or TGP adjustment is 100% required for a safe/smooth experience. It does NOT charge via Thunderbolt 4 (sadly). I can also for some reason overclock the CPU in ThrottleStop, which is pretty cool for single-core speed needs (up to 5GHz single-core).

Run all games nicely on ultra settings. Fans keep relatively quiet to other gaming laptops. Decent thermals comparatively to other laptops.
