 While the age-old adage that opinions are like assholes and everybody has one is certainly true, there have been far more positive and constructive discussions about the list than negative responses, many of which were about the 60X in particular. I have a small house and and didn’t have the room for large floor speakers. I also have no idea what I’m doing so I didn’t want to invest a lot of money right off the bat.

Speakers: Klipsch KB-51 II Bookshelf Speakers 
Got these for $200 on Amazon. Highs and kids are really clear. Not much low-end but that’s to be expected I guess.

Local vinyl store guy agreed this is a great starter table. It skips really bad though if I walk around the house. May need to isolate it somehow. 

Amp: Nosbound NS-15GPRO 200W mini amp
This was the biggest wild card. Seems to be doing the job though not sure if I could do better. Was only $90.

Might need to isolate the speakers as well. Bass seems to be reverberating through the cabinets and floor. Curious what y’all have to say.

 I plan to use this record player as a backup. When I find an album I want and I can’t find on cd I’ll be able to get it and that’s good enough for me Ps Suggestion’s 1. Keep player on a level surface. 2

 Putting it together was easy in comparison with the higher end units. The belt is a little tricky but can be easily manipulated in place. It looked good once it was put together. I’m a cd person and I’ve got a decent cd player so this is what I’m comparing the sound to

 Now, I'm a big geek, and I love seeing the inner workings of things. So being able to see what's under the hood right off the bat, I think that is cool. This is a belt-driven, fully automatic turntable. And while we have it open like this, and before we put the platter on, let's go ahead and take a closer look

 And currently, my number one pick for a less than $100 record player, for those of you that are wondering, my number one pick. Unless you want an all-in-one experience, this is your best component entry-level point for vinyl. It's an excellent machine. But anyway, this is the all-new AT LP-60X fully automatic belt drive turntable

 But there's something that makes me undeniably excited and happy about opening up a brand new record player or even checking out a used one. This is a brand new, fresh off the production line, Audio-Technica LP-60 that has been redesigned. The best parts have been made even better. We reviewed the old LP-60, which is an excellent, excellent record player

 That'll keep everything dust free and working perfectly. Now let's go ahead and listen to the sound quality. What you're going to hear is a direct feed from this record player directly into the camera or the computer that we're editing on. One, two, three o'clock, four o'clock, rock

Even a $99 AT-LP60X and a pair of powered speakers would be an absolutely **tremendous** improvement in sound quality compared to a suitcase player. Anything much above that will be spending more and more money for less and less improvement -- not to say that there isn't *any* improvement in a $1000 turntable versus a $100-$300 one, but it will be more subtle, not an obvious night-and-day difference, unless you really do have golden ears.

Let me just preface this by saying:

1.) I am nowhere close to an audiophile.
2.) I am new to vinyl other than collecting because I like the cover art.

I am looking at getting a whole new setup, as my current setup is a Crosley with built in speakers that I used once three years ago. 
I was looking at getting the Pro-Ject Carbon Debut Evo, but when suggested speakers I was told to spend an equal amount on speakers as the TT. $1,000+ isn't really in the budget right now, so I started looking at the Fluance RT82. As a newbie would I really even be able to hear a difference between the two? Is it worth it to spend double the money on a setup if I am just starting out? Am I missing anything major from the Pro-Ject is I get the Fluance? I understand that the Pro-Ject is a better made product, I just don't want to spend that money for a small upgrade.

Do I really need a higher end turntable?

Okay—this is from someone who has never owned a real turntable, just a suitcase player that I bought for my kid. I also am not done playing side A of the first LP I slapped on this thing like ten minutes ago. Also, I did, however, live with an audiophile for two years way back in college and he was always playing rare, weirdo LPs. I know what it’s supposed to sound like

 I’d you want your first record player, or are looking to upgrade from a suitcase player that is not really designed to hook up to a component stereo system, this is a great place to start. Albert Lee’s Speechless is the first LP I put on this bad boy and I am speechless at how much better this sounds over that Victoria suitcase player. Sounds like Albert is in my living room! Recommend!!

 So—experience and use of this product is limited here, BUT I must say I can’t believe I fiddled for one second trying to get my son’s suitcase player to sound good through my old-school Kenwood stereo. I spent like hours! Well, it was time wasted. This thing, in the first few seconds after the needle has dropped, sounds AWESOME!  Easy, no brainer set-up and stellar sound. I have subtracted a star because it is a tad flimsy in construction, but I am happy with it considering the quite reasonable price

  Anyway, the product itself is fine. I'm using a large rubber band as the belt and had a spare aux chord laying around the house that I connected to a TV sound bar to get me by until the other parts come in. The turntable is user friendly: the needle isn't set so low/high on the arm that it's digging into my records/skipping across the top; it's sturdy and doesn't wriggle around if I bump the table, and the speed has been pretty consistent so far, so I'm not getting any pitch shifting making me think my disc is warped (I've had this problem before with the "suitcase players"). Overall it's a solid turntable that I'm satisfied with, but I just got screwed with the logistics

 The diecast came off during transit and scuffed the absolute life out the dust cover.  They also failed to include the drive belt and the RCA cables, so I was sort of upset about that. I ordered some replacements, but the total costs tacked on ended up the same as if I had ordered a brand new record player. Go figure

 That means when you hit start, the tonearm lifts up and sets itself down on the start of the record. When it's done, it will automatically reset the tonearm so it doesn't hang out in the middle of the record, damaging the stylus. You can also stop playback by hitting the stop button or control the entire process manually by using the up-down buttons. Honestly, there's not much to say here in the sound quality department. It's great

 Where I do prefer this turntable in the design realm is in its dust cover and tonearm. The tonearm is a solid metal and feels strong and weighty, and the dust cover is clear so you can see the record spin. Lastly, I like how lightweight and small this turntable is. It means it's quite flexible when finding a place for it in your setup

 All right, now that your record is spinning, how does it sound? Honestly, there's not much to say here in the sound quality department. It's great. It's going to sound crisper, cleaner, and more full than a digital file, in my opinion. Additionally, this turntable is going to sound light years better than those suitcase-style record players you see at Urban Outfitters that are in like the $100 or less range
