 some people weren't that into it. It had some hot spots on the inside that didn't gel with some people's heads. I had one and I liked it quite a bit, but with the Super Dh, this helmet with the chin bar attached anyways actually complies with Astm's downhill safety certifications. So this is a whole new level of safety that you previously have only been able to get from from full-fledged full-face helmets

 When you're kind of angled down on your bike, pulls sweat through the pads and out to this tab here at the end. So instead of dripping down right onto your face at the end of your pad, it drips off the end of this right here and away from your face. Really simple. These things are made from the ecstatic and Xt2 padding material that's just an anti-microbial material

 These are attached to what they call their no twist tri-glide straps and they've done away with almost all adjustment on these straps. This side has no adjustment at all. The only thing you're ever going to be messing with here is this very simple to use strap right here that just cinches it up down against your chin so no more fumbling about trying to adjust everything. Extremely simple

That was an open-face and it was comfortable

 If I had a lot of money I would buy that helmet. It is around a hundred U.s. or a hundred euros

I started riding about 3 months ago and I’ve been using a XC helmet ( it gives little protection) with goggles, I started jumping and doing harder enduro trails with some DH parts. I haven’t had any hard crashes but I think its time to get a better helmet.
I’m afraid of loosing mobility and vision if I get a full face. For that reason I was considering getting an open face that gives more protection than mine like the POC open face, however I want a second opinion on this. What do you recommend?

Should I get a full face or open face helmet?

 In MEDIUM, the helmet sits on the top of my ear, and it got uncomfortable after just a few minutes. This helmet creates that small irritating pain that doesn't quite hurt but just ruins your mood after a few minutes.  I wanted to like it, but I couldn't deal with the fitment around my ears. I liked everything else about it, but I had to return it

I liked the design and weight of this helmet, but the large was too big, and the medium was too small. There are cutouts around your ear that you can see when you remove the lower half, and my ears do not fall into place in either the L or M.  I have a 22"/56cm head. In LARGE my ears were tucked under the helmet near the cutouts, and it was super uncomfortable

  I wanted to like it, but I couldn't deal with the fitment around my ears. I liked everything else about it, but I had to return it.

 Um, it's expensive. Three hundred dollars for a mountain bike helmet? Uh, it's kind of crazy. but to me it's worth it just to have one helmet instead of having a full face helmet and a half shell helmet? Take one helmet on a trip. Um, you know, if you're going up to a bike park or you're going to go do an enduro race or go do something

 Yeah, it's supposed to be a very safe helmet that is about average as far as uh, heat. I ride out in the desert in Las Vegas and it can get really hot. I haven't noticed any difference. Does seem to breathe pretty well

 Um, it's pretty long. I have it rubber banded down here because when you're in a half shell mode and you're flying down something, this thing will get caught in the wind and slap you in the face. So I figured out. for now

 a nice helmet bag and there's a bell sticker and then of course the helmet. All right. So now I'll demonstrate for you the main feature of the helmet. Anything that everybody's interested in is how you operate the convertible chin guard

Bell Super DH Helmet Review: It IS Super in a lot of ways

I have Bell super DH I'm quite fond of. Strap the chin bar to my hip pack for climbs during the summer, full face all the time when it's cold.

I started riding this year and have started to explore some of the gnarlier (to me) trail systems in my area (for those in the Seattle area, think Raging River / Tiger Mountain).

I purchased a Smith Mainline because I like the idea of "full face full time" but despite the reviews found it unbearably warm on the climb on my most recent ride.

I'm considering replacing the Mainline with a convertible. I tried on the Bell Super Air R and really like it, but it definitely feels less solid than the Mainline. I think that's probably fine since since I've never ridden park/DH and if I started to I could just purchase a dedicated DH helmet?

What's your experience with lightweight full-face helmets?

 The helmet does not feel heavy compared to my regular non-faceguard helmet I use for casual bike riding and I was surprised how good the visibility is (compared to other helmets I've worn like this). It can be a little snug on the face (cheek area -but I have a wide face) and I have take my glasses off before I put it on or take it off but I don't notice it when I'm riding. Since I just got it I haven't been able to test it in warm weather yet so I will be curious to see if the ventilation is as good as other reviews say it is. It is warmer than my standard helmet but that is to be expected

 It does have a one-handed clasp with a magnet that I'm sure when I get some practice that will be handy but right now I usually need two hands to figure out how to remove or attach it. I have not tried it without the face guard since I figure I will use my non-faceguard helmet when I'm not jumping.

Comfortable and good visibility

0 kneepads I got last year and they've been fantastic. Other than that, gloves are optional but I personally use the Endura Danny McAskill signatures, and I use a Nukeproof jersey and a custom Vitus Mythique 29 VRX as my trail shredder.

I ride with a Bell Super DH as a helmet, as its the best of both worlds when it comes to a full face and a trail helmet. I use POC VPD 2.0 kneepads I got last year and they've been fantastic. Other than that, gloves are optional but I personally use the Endura Danny McAskill signatures, and I use a Nukeproof jersey and a custom Vitus Mythique 29 VRX as my trail shredder

Any particular brands, for helmets or other safety hear, bike maintenance products etc would be greatly appreciated.
