Battery life isn’t great, but should last for a few hours. The buds also don’t support multipoint connections, so they can only connect to one device at a time (probably ok when cycling). Generally, I’d say they’re good, but your mileage WILL vary. Overall, I prefer my QuietControl 30s, but obviously the open ear concept is huge for some use cases.

I do a lot of walking, so they're pretty much unusable. I'm bummed to hear others have the issue with the over the ear headphones as well. I'm going to pick up another quietcontrol 30 off ebay and hope that their next earbuds don't have the issue.

The Bose QuietControl 30 are above-average wireless earbuds for most uses cases, that deliver a satisfying sound quality. They're decently portable and offer more control over their noise cancellation than other Bose headphones we've tested so far. However, the noise canceling is not as strong, and although they're stable enough to exercise with the around-the-neck design won't be for everyone.

So my QuietControl 30 started to make a crackling sound. I went through the support page and, as they were about 6 years old, I got an offer of a new pair (£140) or some QuietComfort Earbuds (£160). I went for the upgrade. I had to send the old pair back and then wait two weeks for the new ones to make it to me from Belgium.

The earbuds are on the larger side, and their case is an absolute unit. They lack multipoint. But there’s also plenty of good: Bose has leap-frogged everyone in noise cancellation (establishing itself as a leader once again) and come up with great-sounding earbuds that work reliably
