# Use Case
I'll be using them for gaming (FPS like Rainbow Six: Siege, RPGs like Witcher 3, space sims like Elite: Dangerous), listening to music (rap like NF and Yavid, metal like King 810, Slipknot, Jinjer, Lamb Of God), and work conference calls. For metal, I like it heavy, so I guess good bass? I do hate when bass is so strong it overpowers the singing. I'm guessing EQ can adjust that a bit.

An important note here is that I will spend most of my time with these headphones listening to music.

# What I Want
I don't know if this is a good explanation of what I'm looking for, but: I'd like to feel like I'm wrapped up in soft, comfortable blanket of beautiful audio. I want to be immersed in the sound. I also want clarity and detail. I'd love to hear things I wouldn't be able to with other headphones.

I'd like good isolation from the outside (I overclock my GPU and slam the fan on it to 100%, so I've got a fucking jet 5 inches away). I'd also like minimal leakage.

I'm done with the "GaMiNg HeAdPhOnEs" and virtual surround bullshit. More devs are integrating DTS Headphone and Dolby Atmos into games, so I don't need it in a headset. I don't NEED a mic. I can buy a mod-mic or something, but if it comes with a good mic (I'm not a streamer or content creator yet, so nothing crazy), that's a plus.

# Mobility/Wireless and Equipment
I know wireless is bad juju for sound quality, but I hate wires. I also value my mobility with the headphones. I'd like to be 30 feet away and still have sound. I'd also prefer they be able to pair with a phone so I can seamlessly go from music to call, or use them when I'm on the couch with my laptop. Ideally, I'd love a set that can go wired, wireless, and do bluetooth.

I'll accept wires and no mobility (and thus no bluetooth) if the tradeoff in sound quality or latency is too high. The wires hopefully won't screw with productivity, i.e. be too difficult to cable manage, or interfere with placement of keyboard and mouse. Sound quality comes first.

I don't have desk space for additional equipment (yet), so the headphones need to stand on their own. If there's additional performance that can be gained when I get a DAC or amp later on, that's fine.

I was looking at the Audeze Penrose and Audeze Mobius (don't care about the 3D mumbo jumbo). I read planar drivers are really good for metal, but I've never used em.

Music and gaming headphones recommendations

 Unfortunately, the mic quality is garbage. It not only picks up every little sound, but you can hear it playing. For instance, when the mic is on, I can hear my own typing and mouse clicks not only in reality but also somehow echoing back into the headphones? I'm not an audiophile so I don't know how to describe what's happening in technical terms. All I do know is that I've already had to replace them because they stopped working when connected via the aux cord (whatever it's called) which had zero troubleshooting steps available

) it stops the music/podcast which is really annoying when dealing with a program like Slack and frequent notifications. I would've rather just hear the notification & not have my music stop  -the microphone is unreliable - sometimes when you connect to the phone from the computer, the microphone doesn't come along even though you can hear the audio in the headset  -people on the other end told me it sounds like the volume is coming in and out, sometimes I sounded close and others far away even if I wasn't physically moving around

Initially, I was going to replace my broken-down ear cushions, but along the way, I saw Bose's QC 45 and NC 700. I also saw an article saying that the QC 35 II is better than the 45. Cue me becoming trapped within The Headphones Rabbit Hole as I become increasingly confused on whether I should upgrade or not. 

I've gone through several articles to find the differences between these three headphones. The links below are the ones I ended up focusing on. 

I want headphones that are good at parsing speech that ranges from crystal clear to somewhat intelligible. I also LOVE listening to music and do so every day (bonus points for when I'm high and I can feel the music). On a less important note, I have audio stimulation issues. I rarely ever take off my headphones for that reason, and being able to adjust noise cancellation settings helps a lot.

In summary, these are the qualities I want in my headphones:

One Year Out Covers are Falling Apart

1. I know LG's hifi quad dac is hard to beat in the phone world. Is there a better phone than the LG V60 ThinQ 5g for hifi audio (currently streaming from Tidal, but will probably start downloading files at some point)?

2. What kind of audio files should I be looking to download?

3. What kind of SD card should I get for holding music.

I've been wanting true wireless earbuds with ANC. I had considered the Airpods Pro, Galaxy Buds Pro, and Status Between Pro. But the Airpods lacked the sound quality, Galaxy Buds lacked proper fitment, and Status Buds lacked ANC. I also have the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2, Kef Mu3, and Master & Dynamic MW08 on my shortlist.
My needs in order of importance:
1. ANC/features (codec support, EQ. etc)
2. Comfort/fitment
3. Sound Quality
4. Design
5. Price
6. Mic Quality

I would greatly appreciate any buying advice or recommendations!

feature, the left side always makes a burring wind sound...driving me   
nuts. Kinda bummed bc i've been saving up for it—i paid roughly twice

Hello and thanks for reading. I have special ears i would say, i have the GALAXY BUDS PRO  and returned them. They were great expect the fact they dont stay in my ears. Ive bought 4 different tips and to all avail none are better then the original, which still hurt and fall out.

Kind of randomly bought the Sony WH-1000XM4, just started listening (wired / LDAC) and damn I'm blown away, it's so much better than anything else I've ever listened to and now I wonder. How far away from the endgame are those? I'm assuming price wise this is where it gets steep, but sound quality wise how much is there even left to gain?

Alrighty i might be asking a stupid question. So i got a Sennheiser Game One (MassDrop edition) + Fulla 4 combo. Great sounding headphones + comfort. But i got 1 tiny issue the directional sound in games i completely whack compared to my old GameCome 780's i had before (7.1 virtual surround). Is there any software i'm missing or does it flat-out not support 7.1 virtual surround

Just got some Sony MDR-EX800ST and was trying out the vent tape mod, is it okay to tape them with out a small hole in the tape? or will that cause damage to the driver in them with out a vent hole?

What are some good noise canceling headphone for music, and lecture listening ( and if possible gaming?) I mainly use my MacBook and iPhone, but am building a PC in the future and starting to get heavily into vinyl. My budget is 2k Canadian. I can go a little over if needed.

Anyone know how to use an Antlion Wireless modmic with an Xbox? I got one as a gift, and I am unable to find any workarounds.  I would like to be able to use my nicer headphones with my xbox, but it seems like they made things impossible for anyone that doesn't just have a conventional "gaming headset" setup and doesn't care about audio quality.

Edit: It seems as if the Xbox has disabled the ability to use usb dongles for microphones or really anything but power. You could do an HDMI pass through to get audio out of the HDMI instead of the controller, but would it be possible for the Xbox to receive microphone audio through HDMI? I believe HDMI is generally “1-way”, so I don’t think this is an option. Is there something I could get that would work as an APTX to Bluetooth converter of sorts? Xbox series x can pair with Bluetooth headsets and controllers. That might work? Somebody who knows more about tech than me may need to figure this out I guess… At the moment, I am just using my old headset on my Xbox and my nicer headset for everything else. This is an easily-fixable issue from Xbox, and it’s incredibly frustrating.

Edit2: The “best” solution I have found is to join Xbox parties with two accounts. One through PC and one through Xbox. You would connect the mic through the PC and your headphones through the Xbox. Your voice would come through one account (likely a secondary account that’s used for literally nothing else) and you would hear the party/game and play with your actual account. I’m just going to use my old headset for Xbox I guess. If anyone can find better options, though, I’d be very happy.

Does not look new at all

Hi, I am considering to by a Bose 700. For those who have used their headphone, how is Bose's after sales service? If it is based on my first interaction with the chat guy few days ago, I would say it is completely rubbish and I would stay away from that company.

How is Bose's after sales service?

  They are terrible for talking on the phone even indoors and seem to amplify ambient sounds to the caller on the other end.  For music the sound is precise and sharp. These do not have any exaggerated levels and are near "flat" so you will not get deep bass from rap, hip hop, electronic music like a Beats or other bass heavy headphone. For classical, jazz and other music with stand up bass or bass instrument music they are excellent

 They are exceptional for classical, mediation music, and jazz  Of course you can make adjustments with an EQ app but you will not get heavy bass tones as it is not what they are meant for.  For me these have been excellent and worth the investment. I can't speak to why other reviewers are getting poor quality and perhaps it's luck of the draw. This is my honest experience
