 But if you're not buying multiple of these, there's really no use for this app. It's also worth noting this is the second generation, and at least in the app when I was looking at it, there's no option of also connecting it to one of the first generation speakers.  All right, after a couple of weeks of use, what do we actually think about this Bose Revolve Plus 2 speaker? Well, I must say, battery life, really nice, physically the form function, it feels very premium, very nice feeling. I'm inclined to say that this is probably best used for outdoor parties or something where you have a large space. You can't mount this onto a tripod with the included little screw hole there in the bottom. You can't actually attach it to something so that it's not just sitting on a table or whatever, and you can take advantage of the full surround sound effect of the music

 I'm pretty excited about this one from Bose, the Soundlink Revolve Plus 2. This one is coming out in early April, so very interested to see how this works. It's supposed to have a really good sound of 17 hours of battery life on a single charge, so I'm excited to check this out and see how it works. All right, here we have the box for Soundlink Revolve Plus 2

 Nice little carrying handle here, pretty small, but not super heavy, but definitely not feeling like it's super cheap, lightweight plastic or anything. Looks like we've got power, Bluetooth, minus and plus, I assume, or volume, and that I'm guessing is for different inputs. Yeah, probably, we do have, appears to be a micro USB, that is a little disappointing in a modern product, and a line in, and a nice little rubberized grip on the bottom. All right, let's get this charged up, set up, and see how it sounds

 Pros Great 360 audio quality, durable and compact, good looks, multi-device freedom, whereas the cons, a bit expensive, no USB-C port, low water and dust resistance, and outdated Bluetooth 4.1 technology. To wrap it up, the verdict If you are on the look for a good-looking and durable speaker, then the Revolve Plus 2 is your friend. It exudes styles and at the same time sounds great in an omnidirectional way

 If you download the Bose app that is available both for iOS and Android, it gives you great adjustments such as managing the Bluetooth connections, adjusting the tonality, and more. You will also find the party mode there, a signature Bose feature that allows you to pair the speaker with the other members of Bose's smart family. If there's a Bose logo on it, it sure does sound good! Performance Do we even need to question the sound quality? I mean, great sound quality from a Bose speaker is almost taken as given. The same saying goes for the Revolve Plus thanks to its unorthodox downward-facing driver

 But yeah, sadly, all that will come with a cost, quite the high one actually for a small device. Still, I can't say that it doesn't live up to the price even though it has some small compromises such as not having a USB-C port and the dock coming separately. I’ve been around a Bose Revolve 2 for a few years. A friend carries it everywhere he goes. 

I recently bought a Sonos Move and a Sonos Roam (based solely on this sub’s adoration). 

I love the Move. I am very lukewarm on the Roam, and will be returning it. 

In my experience, connectivity via Sonos app, AirPlay, and Bluetooth is intermittent. Sound is good, but not significantly better than other speakers of its size. 

The Bose speaker is slightly larger and has a handle on top. The form-factor is similar to a lantern. 

In my opinion, it’s the better option unless you are already tied into the Sonos ecosystem.

Sonos Roam vs Bose Soundlink Revolve

Usually you get what you pay for, but not with this speaker. The sound quality is fair but there is nothing special about it. The app doen't have an EQ so you're just stuck with the neutral factory settings. Found a different speaker for 1/2 the price that out performs this one

Just not worth the price

 You get a solid range of 30 feet so you don't have to worry about moving back and forth with the paired device, but this offers some freedom compared to the wired Bose Home Speaker 500. It also has multipoint pairing support which allowed me to connect two devices simultaneously and smoothly switch back between the audio sources. This connection is also low latency and it works very well with iPhone and Android devices, which makes it adequate for watching videos. It even provides a USB port for a wired connection and a 3

 The mid range response was crisp and distinctive, so vocals and guitars rang through clearly. I also noted that it can be impressively loud, but some compression artifacts are present at maximum volume and the stereo content must be downmixed. The Bose companion app is solid and it's compatible with both iOS and Android devices, but I believe a customizable EQ would have been a useful addition. It lets you pair two speakers together to create a stereo setup for a more immersive experience or you can enable party mode to pair with multiple speakers

 This is the Bose Soundlink Revolve Plus 2. It comes with a lot of interesting features and some good sounding audio with a very portable build. There's a lot to like about it, but can it really deliver? And after you get it, what should you be expecting? The Bose Soundlink Revolve Plus 2 is a relatively small speaker that comes with a smooth 360 degree design, and it's meant to sit vertically. I think the build quality is sturdy and it comes with a lantern-like shape made from a perforated anodized aluminum grille with no seams which protects the driver, although it tends to collect fingerprints

 It also comes with silicone coated end tips for enhanced durability, so it should be able to survive a couple accidental drops. I thought the woven fabric handle was easy to carry and the lightweight frame provides phenomenal portability. Even more, it comes with an IP55 dust and water resistance rating, which means it's weatherproof and it can withstand some splashes, so it's perfect for outdoor use. The buttons are found on top and it gives you a range of controls, although I would have liked to see a more textured finish

Appreciate everything I’ve learned on this sub. Alan Ross’ videos have been very helpful. I can’t find a comparison for low volume listening between these two. Price aside, I’m hoping for a balanced sound for easy listening at lower volumes while still having good deep bass and the option to go louder if needed. 

Alan Ross likes the Charge 5 for clarity at low volumes, but I haven’t seen mention of the Xtreme 2/3 at low volumes. I know I’ll hear they’re overpriced, but I’m probably going to get used so not too expensive. If the Xtreme sounds good and clear at low volume too, I’ll probably get that. What do you think?
