I'm looking for a color laser printer that has a scanner/copier function as well.  Ideally something with toner that won't kill my wallet.

I really really really don't want something that will install a million trash programs on my computer.

Needing a color laser + scanner for home use

 Reconfigured for *LAN (gigabit) printing and the same document took around 4 minutes. Went Wi-Fi for convenience but that obviously was not a good result (minus 1 star).

I reviewed several other Brother printers (based on currently owned model, cost, features), and decided to purchase the L8260 which was "available" at a local store. After driving there, the associate could not find it (online availability is horrible, minus 1 star). Ended up reviewing this model (faster print speed) and opted to get this one instead [delivered].

Therefore, if is smarter to avoid the cheapest printer to avoid getting robbed blind on per page costs. For example, the Brother HL-L8360CDW costs $698 and the consumables are $178/9000pg (black) and $298x3 / 9000pg (color).

Wastes toner

I've been working at home and need to print from time to time, not a lot but occasionally and at the end of year print out a lot of invoices for my company.

I'm frustrated that my Inkjet HP 8610 won't let me print black &amp; white when the Cyan cartridge has been depleted! Looking through the web I see the price on the original website of all colours is £127, which as I recall is more expensive than I last bought it at.

After scouring the web for a while it seems the general consensus is laser is better value in the long run. 'Brother' seems to be getting a lot of recommendations so I decided to have look at how much the ink costs. 

To my surprise inks were sold separately at around £54 each so £216 for 4 colours!

The cartridge is for 1000 pages whereas according to HP:

Page yield (combo): 2,300 black, 1500 for the other three colours. 

Am I missing something? Is brother way more expensive in UK than in other countries?

Poor Wireless Connectivity

 I found out last month, it was no longer connected the the home wifi even though it said it is connected. No matter how many time i reseted it. Very disappointed ☹️
