See these three recommended a lot on /r/audiophile, I'm using a NC252 to power and a decent DAC (SGD1), I'm unsure which of these three speakers to upgrade to. SVS SB2000 is my current sub, so that handles bass not really a big deal if the speaker lacks it.

I want detail and excellent instrument separation, large soundstage. My type of music is, classical, jazz, orchestra soundtracks on work days, then on fun days it's going to be rock and rap.

Since I live in the middle of nowhere auditioning the speakers isn't a possibility.

Hey guys,

Part of my project in quarantine was clearing off a desk of old junk and setting up a new work/pc gaming station.

For my sound setup right now, I've dusted off and am reusing an old, Logitech X-240 2.1 system, but I'm looking to upgrade to something nicer.

I spent some time researching speakers and an amp, and am currently thinking about going with the Cambridge Audio SX-50s (can get a manu. refurb. on Ebay) and SMSL AD18 OR the SMSL SA3000 for amplification.

I have very limited space on my desk, where I have walls on either side of my PC monitor, so the width of the speakers is important to me. I am also set up in a small room in an apt., and will be sitting about 3ft from the monitor, so I don't need anything powerful and loud to "fill" the room. I'm a classical musician, I listen to classical on the reg, but I also listen to pretty much any genre of music out there (why limit my aural senses to just a small cross-section of all the music that's out there?!), so this, and gaming (PS4 and PC) would be my primary usage for these speakers.

It seems like the SX-50s is the perfect pair for my usage (esp. the 6.3" width) but I don't see it being recommended too often, so I wanted to ask if there might be some others I've missed?

As for the AD18 or SA3000, it doesn't seem like there'd be too much of a difference with going either way for my usage. I'm leaning towards the AD18 simply for the convenience of the headphone jack, even though I have a dedicated amp for headphones already. All I really need/want is bluetooth connectivity, as well as connecting to a PC and also the monitor so that my PS4 will sound out of the speakers as well. Should I be going one over the other, or does it really not make too much of a difference?

I have had the Edifier S330D speakers for a few years now and never had a problem until now.  
Started hearing crackling and thought it's loose wiring, after some troubleshooting and swapping L/R speaker and L/R speaker wires, the problem comes from the right channel out of the subwoofer.

So no matter which wire and speaker I use, the right channel will have crackling (random) and the right channel speaker will get hot after a while.

Is it dead for good? Or can it be repaired?

I will be moving out soon and the setup will initially be leftover gear from my dad: Altec Lansing Model One speakers, Philips DFR 9000 Reciever, Pioneer-PL2 Turntable with AT95 Cartridge and Behringer PP400 Phono Preamp. If I were to upgrade, what order should i go? I'd prefer to upgrade pieces seperately over time since i'm still a student (poor). I assume the preamp should be first, and after that? (reposting this to get some more input, upgrade priorities would be appreciated)

I listened to sound samples for both, the Onyx has the superior sound but terrible battery life. The Charge 4 has a longer battery life, but the sound profile isn’t as great. Someone kindly assist me?

Just set up my JBL 305p mkii powered speakers, my first studio speaker setup. At the moment I only have it connected to my lp120 TT via rca to XLR however I have a schiit sys on the way which I'll then be connecting them to both my TT and my PC for gaming/music from my PC. I need assistance on how to set my speaker settings that are on the back (volume, dB, etc) for optimal sound experience (I would like it to lean more towards the heavy bass side) Thanks!

I'm looking to buy one (or most likely two) large battery-powered speakers that would be sufficiently powerful to accommodate crowds of 100, possibly with the addition of a battery-powered subwoofer. They would be used indoors but also outdoors, so rugged design is a plus. Aside from power, sound quality is a must. Any recommendations or advice on a setup like this from people with experience would be very much appreciated. Once again this would be to play electronic music (techno to be precise). I'm lucky to live in a place without social distancing but the we are starved for good, regular techno events, so a few friends and I are getting together to do something about it.  We want to avoid dealing with a generator, hence the battery-powered requirement. Thank you for your help.

I got some Edifier R1700BT on the way and my desk is against a wall on the right hand side so it will be hard to get to the controls. Can I swap the sides of the speakers (so have the main speaker with the controls on the left) and if so how?

I am debating between two sound bars.  The JBL Bar 5.1 and the JBL Bar 5.1 with True Wireless speakers.  The differences I have seen so far is that one has something called a tweeter driver and the other does not.  Is this significant for a good sound bar?  Another difference is that the has "550W of True Power" and the other is "510W of True Power".  Can someone explain those two things and anything a novice would have overlooked between the two soundbars?  The Price is also comparable with a difference of < $20.  Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Has anyone had speakers with headphone jack connector and sound come out of the speakers even when you plug a headphone?

I just bought these https://productz.com/en/edifier-m1335/p/n6Mlp Edifier M1335 2.1 budget speakers to mainly use them as headphone connectors but when I plug a headphone you can clearly heard sound coming out of the speakers though the sound gets lower if you mute the speaker, lower the volume from the speaker or Windows but still there is sound coming out of it. I always though the normal would be that the speakers mute completly when you plug a headphone?

I have a Samsung Giga MX-FS9000. I'm having a difficult time finding the speaker connection for the Front Left speaker. Any help is appreciated.

I found a pair of Sony APM 177M's on the street but the cables coming from the speakers were really frayed at the end, is this hard to fix/does it need fixing, and should I Pick them up?

Hi guys, I’m by no means an audiophile so I just want your opinion on which speaker to get for my small room which is 3.5m by 3.6m, both the sonos arc and klipsch are the same price and both are getting excellent reviews so I’m not sure which to get. I’m mainly going to use these for music and movies from my tv which has a hdmi ARC and support Dolby digital plus. Thanks.

Hello, I have a ION Audio Total PA Max. The speaker has blown after not even a year. We use it for our football team. Please tell me if it can be repaired or if i could maybe use an amplifier? Been getting back into vinyl and audio. Upgraded a few components. I didn’t know what I was missing!

 Seller was great about the return. I bought the more advanced Cambridge model from a different company, and that one didn't work right out of the box; same dead channel. Very disappointing, as the sound it managed to make was great; I wish one of them had worked. Wound up with a Yamaha R-N803, which doesn't look as sleek, but sounds great and works

Hey all—I’ve been looking for a receiver to meet some specific needs I have in my basement. They are:

1) Phono input 
2) Subwoofer line out
3) Bluetooth connectivity

As you can probably already see, I’ve had trouble finding anything that has all 3.

There are lots with phono and sub, of course.

There are many with 2.0 channels and Bluetooth.

Others have 2.1 + channels and Bluetooth, but no dedicated phono input.

I’m having a hard time finding all 3.

I’m still relatively new to the audio world, so it’s very possible I don’t know how to properly google it. But, I have not found anything that JD all 3.

I know there are alternative options like a Bluetooth adapter of some sort, or using a preamp to ground my turntable before connecting to a receiver. My preference would be be for the one-stop receiver if it exists.

So....does anyone know if a receiver like this does, in fact, exist? Thanks!

Does a 2.1 channel receiver with a phono input AND Bluetooth exist!?

the unit sounds great with one problem...if you like your music even semi loud the unit shuts down, very aggravating if i knew this was going to happen would have opted for different system

My current set up fits this budget- I have a NAD 3020 amp, and Q Acoustics 3020i speakers. Exactly $750 when I got them. For space that’s not too big, I think it’s a great set up

Im open to any suggestions as I’m kind of overwhelmed and I’d like to make a fair decision at least. Im also open to floor standing speakers( I just don’t know of any that I can meet my budget requirements with right now). Thanks a lot guys!
