Casper Original

Based on some additional reviews on Youtube, it turns out that the original Casper is quite firm for a side sleeper. Moreover, almost all foam mattresses, which supposedly should be good for side sleeper due to them bot being too firm, turn out to be below average for side sleepers based on many reviews (Casper, Leesa, Zinus, etc.). We are now starting to look at Hybrid mattresses, since they offer a better alternative for hot sleepers and are basically the best of both worlds due to having coils.

Hey all -. We bought a Casper Original mattress 3 months ago and I’ve finally convinced spouse to return/sell it. Although we loved the bed in store, I’ve been unable to actually sleep one full night on it for two reasons 1) the atrociously awful smell that refuses to dissipate after months of use/airing out 2) it’s hard as a rock.

Chose an L&P Prodigy Comfort Elite split King base and Casper Original mattresses. Expensive but I figured my sleep, and my sanity, was worth it. Set it for zero gravity position and had the best sleep I've had in years. Mostly on my back but a little side here and there (and that was perfectly comfortable even in the zero gravity position).

Finally recently though I tired a Casper and it was good. It was a Casper original.

**Casper Original**: This one is my partner's mattress, and it's at least 5 years old, so I imagine it's the original iteration of the Casper. I find it way too firm, and I wake up sore (shoulders, back) after sleeping on it. **Brentwood Home, Cypress Hybrid**: I liked the bouncy feel of this hybrid, probably because I'm used to sleeping on spring mattresses. But I'd wake up every morning with full-body soreness and could tell that my shoulder was getting crushed when laying down.
