 If you position it to to blow outside air in, it is still not secure and a breeze from the outside will also knock it out of the window frame. The problem is there is no ridge, extension, or other thinner piece along the sides of the fan that will fit inside the rails of the window frame to lock it in place when the window is closed against the fan. I own and have owned similar fans from Lasko, Holmes, and Bionaire and none of them have this design flaw. Also, the Comfort Zone CZ319WT is much lighter weight than the other brands listed above

The plastic frame is lighter/less dense and the electric motors are lighter weight. Although I returned this fan for the reasons stated, I believe the lighter weight is also an indication of less durability and reliability

Not secure in sliding windows

 Which is how I'm going to use it now because it's snowing outside so there's absolutely no need for a window fan on top. Here you have two settings you have off two and one so off high and low. Um, then you have these little extendable uh, side extensions if you want to put this in like a larger window and I like that they have it on both sides. The homes only got it on one side and they got this solid panel on the other side

 This switch is like pass through because as well as the handle it says this side exhaust out and the other side is fresh air in. So let's start this out with high. It has that cool little resonating sound that the Holmes makes. Good air

Comfort Zone CZ319WT Twin Window Fan

Overall, the power of the fans is a bit on the low side; two 9" fans should probably move more air.  However, it does cool and exhaust, so it does basically what I needed it for, which is to remove small amounts of smoke from a desktop laser engraver positioned under a window.  However, when you read that it can be changed to exhaust, you should know that this means you have to remove the fan from the window and physically turn it around - a fact that would have effected my purchase.

Disliked that you had to swap it around in your window to make it pull air out of the house.  There should be a button for that!!!

Should have done more research

 I placed the fan on a tabletop near my trash can. I used the circulation option which causes the blades on the dual fans to move in opposite directions for improved air distribution throughout the kitchen. I cannot wait until summer time to install this Comfort Zone Reversible Twin Window Fan to cut down on the use of air conditioning. The instructions are easy to understand

Window fan with many options

 I knew I was only gonna use the fan for the few weeks in Spring and Fall when it's warm but not hot enough to turn on the A/C, so I went with the $31 Comfort Zone CZ319WT. It's a very basic fan that has 2 speeds. I wouldn't say it blows weak but it also doesn't blow very hard. It's a quiet fan, it doesn't disrupt tv watching or music listening

Not the best window fan but far from the worst

  During the fall it may come in handy, but its summer now so its too hot and humid out to use the fan function since we have air conditioners.  But I think it will work great if you do want to blow in air from outside. One other con is it beeps every time you plug it in, and when you push the buttons it also has a loud beep, not sure why it needs to do that but itd be annoying if youre trying to be quiet.   Other than those minimal cons
