 If you want to see us, do a review on that as well. [upbeat music playing] Alright So starting with the backside of this pack, we have these four lash straps kind of going around. Again Cotopaxi, with that brand name, they've kind of got this nice neon color going on. We Think that's tasteful

 After Our tests. We feel like it fits the travel role pretty well. With It's carry-on compliance, refined design, and ample space. The Allpa is a great choice

 So All the materials they've used on this pack are of pretty high quality,, but that does come at a weight expense. So We're looking at three pounds and seven ounces just for the Allpa itself when it's empty. The pack comes in at 20 by 12 by 8 inches, which is going to be compatible with most airlines as far as carry-on specifications goes.

--My biggest issue with this bag is that you have to pack it very carefully in order for it to actually zip close. It’s hard to explain in writing, but there’s one specific place on the bag where it will not zip unless you have done extra careful organizing. This is not a bag you can just sit on and zip; the fabric has very little give. 

--I love the built-in zipped organizers, and really appreciated the front pocket, which is designed to have room even when the rest of the bag is stuffed to the gills.

Mostly good, one glaring annoyance

I bought this based on the rave review in the NY Times which declared it the best of all carry-on options. Having now done my own comparison between this and a standard rollaboard suitcase that cost less than 50% of the cost of this backpack I am going back to the rollaboard. It holds the same amount of stuff and when you've arrived someplace the regular suitcase layout is way easier to find what you're looking for. If you're spending time walking around a city with your luggage this backpack is probably a better option, but if most of your walking is through an airport the rollaboard with wheels is way easier to manage

- For a hike that is a few miles, I found myself constantly readjusting the straps. I REALLY wish the pack had top straps to bring the top weight of the bag in more. But this could possibly be resolved with what's chosen to be packed in the brain of the bag. I had all of my cooking gear in there

- I know some hikers would probably prefer a hard frame back, but the back was fine for me, just need better straps to support the weight. 

Used for Camping + Air travel

 I also carried it around extensively and it did not cause any discomfort. It is important to pack the backpack evenly and to place the heavier items on the right side (side that closest to the back). I would recommend this backpack for trips lasting less than 5 days because I don't think the backpack would be comfortable if packed to capacity.

Awesome backpack; Best suited for lighter loads

 I am a 5'4 lady and the waist strap didn't tighten down enough to provide any weight distribution/support. The sternum straps came off a few times but they're easy to clip back in. Just inconvenient and surprising. I had the backpack straps tightened down almost as far as they could go and they would slip and lengthen as I walked

Allpa 35 is ok, not very comfy

 why no shoulder straps??? The 42L has it included, so why is this not the same for all the models? I admit I am low key mad at myself for not getting the 42L just for this reason alone. Cotopaxi, if you’re not going to include shoulder straps, at least sell them separately!! I will bump this to 5 stars if you do…… Otherwise, great bag and totally worth the hype.
