 On medium, you probably within 10 feet of sitting at it. You know you, you know it's on within low. You have to put your ear about a foot away, to even know it's running and that's what it runs on 99 of the time, because once it gets your initial filtration done of all the air in your house, which doesn't take long about 15-20 minutes and it'll Filter pretty much all the air in your house. It turns itself down to low mode just to kind of maintain that super clean air

 That'S what i usually take, which kind of helps suppresses it. I really when, when my my buddy told me about the hepa filters and that he got one and then it completely changed his whole allergies, he got rid of them all. I really didn't believe him until i actually used one myself and i was really blown away within 24 hours. My allergies were completely gone

 You only have to replace it too, just because of the size of the filter once every year, maybe even longer, depending on the pollution level of the air quality in your home anyway. The Airmega 400s is a fantastic project with frustrating quirks. I have terrible seasonal allergies and have owned many different HEPA filters. This one is easily the very best I've ever owned. In "smart" mode and at it's lowest setting it's practically silent and able to maintain decent indoor air quality

[ Music ] today I want to do just kind of a quick review for you guys on the co way: air mega 400 smart air purifier. I hadn't seen too many reviews on this unit, so I thought I'd kind of give. You guys my two cents based off my experience and let you know what I thought about it should mention also real quick to that. I actually found a pretty good deal on this air purifier and I'll put a link in the description below

 So you guys can check that deal out if you're interested, so if you're not familiar co way is one of the top most popular brands of air purifiers and for good reason they make really really good units. I did quite a bit of research on these and ended up landing on the air mega 400, just based on the square footage alone. They do make a little bit smaller model called the 300, which is rated just basically, it's the same exact unit, just rated for a little bit smaller space, but essentially it is the exact same unit. I should mention, too, that there is another model now out called the 400s

I still went with this device because you can clean and reuse the filters so they last longer. •UPDATE: You are supposed to be able to wash the filters, but in my experience if you get any amount of water on the edges of the filters then they will deteriorate and leave black stains while drying out. Dropped a star because of this as it removes significant time from the useful life of the filter

Also, I noticed the price of this shot up recently, most likely due to all the wildfires and dirty air happening

  Cons:  •The price fluctuates a lot which I talk about below. Feels bad to buy it only to have the price go down $20 a few days later. •The air quality sensor light is pretty nice, but I also don't trust it completely. I'll have the device running all day and then all the sudden the sensor light turns red (which indicates poor air quality) and the purifier starts running really hard, even though I don't see any reason why the air would have suddenly worsened

 On smart mode, as the air quality becomes worse, the fan speed will automatically operate at a higher speed. As the air quality gets better and remains good for 10 minutes or more, AirMega conserves energy by shutting down the fan and going into smart eco mode. If your AirMega is Wi-Fi enabled, you'll see an LED Wi-Fi indicator. When the light is off, that means the Wi-Fi mode is off and not connected to the Wi-Fi router

 If the ring changes to green and yellow, that means the air quality is moderate. Orange and yellow indicate that the air is unhealthy, while pink and red means very unhealthy. On smart mode, as the air quality becomes worse, the fan speed will automatically operate at a higher speed. As the air quality gets better and remains good for 10 minutes or more, AirMega conserves energy by shutting down the fan and going into smart eco mode

 At that point, you'll be prompted to wash the pre-filter, change the Max2 filter, or both. You can reset the Max2 filter and pre-filter status indicators by holding them down for 3 seconds. To turn off the AirMega, simply hold down the power button for 3 seconds. Now breathe deeply

 The way it works is that the built-in pollution sensor measures the amount of pollutants in the air, which will change the color of the indoor air quality indicator. Blue and green means the air quality is good. If the ring changes to green and yellow, that means the air quality is moderate. Orange and yellow indicate that the air is unhealthy, while pink and red means very unhealthy

The sensor default setting is pretty good. To confirm it does work, various air pollutants was purposely blew right at the sensor, such as vape, smoke, smoky oil. It does take 1 to 2 second for the sensor to detect it and the fan ramps to HIGH.

The WIFI smart assistant is pretty much useless. For a device that advertise as being easily integrated into a Google Home, why would the printed instructions not be included? It is plain stupid that it is required to do a search on a search engine to locate the instruction on how to set it up with Google Home. Same thing for the commands, going to the website directly there are no direct links in the product page. To get the commands, a search has to be done

 It definitely sucks in that, and so i believe, probably about a week or two ago i actually kind of cleaned out this filter, because these filters are like a hundred bucks. So if you look real close, you can see the coals off in there and i used a vacuum hose because the dust got caught on. You know this little uh. I don't know, filter thing right here, and so i'm just i just use the vacuum hose with a little attachment and just sucked out all the all of that

 You just slide this up and it comes off. Every now and then i'll take a q-tip and it it says in there to you, know clean. So you can see a little dust right there, but that's what measures, the air quality, quality and uh. I just cleaned that every now and then there we go but yeah overall, i think it works pretty good uh like when my wife is frying and cooking

 If you kind of see the little black spots, i don't know if y'all can see it, but yeah um collects dust and then probably about about three months after we um got this. We got a dog so and he sheds a lot so uh yeah.  Actually, you know we're going to go ahead and cut her on alexa turn on the air filter. There we go so you can actually hear it. That'S because it's on its highest setting um, you know it's on its highest setting, but if you want to take it all the way down, it'll slow down but yeah, we ain't, we don't have to go through all of that right now. Um

I like this air filter. It's pretty quiet, seems to reduce odors, and can handle a large space.

"Smart" Mode is Kinda Dumb

 My biggest dislike is that the carbon filter is attached to the HEPA filter so it cant be replaced as often like with the Mighty Air Purifier's separate carbon filter. Also it has no Ionizer which the Mighty Air does. Also I really dont like that the smart feature turns the fan off in darkness when I am sleeping. Plus with multiple mighty air purifiers they are easier to move around the house and eliminate odors

Better off buying 2 of their Mighty Air Purifiers
