Not an exchange but a straight return. A Crosley Cruiser is simply not worth using. Everything about it sucks… the cartridge, stylus, tonearm, motor, suspension, platter, plinth, and built in speakers are scraping the bottom of the barrel. And even if this *was* a turntable worth using… you should NEVER be considering doing your own repairs when something is in the return period

So I have a Crosley Cruiser. Normally when I moved the arm to a certain point the vinyl starts spinning/stops spinning. Suddenly it just doesn’t stop spinning which is really annoying when wanting to place a record. Now I have to turn the record player on and off bc Im afraid to damage the vinyl on the spinning player. 

I have no idea what the issue could be. Do you guys maybe have a clue what I could try to fix the issue?

Record player won’t stop spinning when placing the arm back

Doesn't sound great, but does technically play records

 I definitely want to deliver on the promise there. We destroyed a record player. This one wasn't really any good, so no harm done. But it still was kind of painful and kind of fun in a very evil kind of way

 However, the misunderstanding and the mistruth here that this will damage your vinyl and that it's a unique thing to Crosley Cruisers. First, let's set the record straight here. Distortion versus tracking force. Now, the more tracking force that a record player places on the record surface, in other words, how hard the needle is pushing down, will actually increase the sound quality and minimize distortion

The whole “real HiFi doesn’t use EQ” is a very successful old marketing schtick from Naim and their hangers-on, and it’s so so tiresome.  Music sounds better with EQ.

Music also sounds better with stupendous great horn speakers that can move lots of air.  Kudos!

Just a quick note.  A significant part of the kit here was purchased used, and most of that was from Echo HiFi in Portland, OR ([www.echohifi.com](https://www.echohifi.com)).  They are fantastic, fair, thoughtful people and I have really enjoyed working with them.  Give them a try or find something similar where you live.  It is really nice to find a bargain, and have someone to bounce ideas off of.  IDK why but most of the used, reconditioned audio places I've been to a full of audio nerds like us (or at least me)...

Do equalizers belong in high end audio? I say yes, but I am in the minority. Thoughts?

 The big exception is the speakers, which are pretty terrible. Given how you can go out and buy a mini bluetooth speaker with really good sound quality for not much money, it's pretty surprising how bad these speakers are..

really tinny, trebly and easily overloaded. I mean they could have just left the speakers off and instead put in a bluetooth transmitter so you could use your own speaker. Bummer.

I bought this mainly because I have a small apartment and my space is at a premium- I knew it would fit nicely on an existing shelving unit I have. It does look nice and for the most part seems to be built pretty well- the components don't have that really cheap feel of some low budget electronics. The big exception is the speakers, which are pretty terrible. Best turntables of all time

The Crosley record player is so cute and looks so nice however the sound quality was a little lackluster also I think I got a different color than the one I originally ordered but that’s OK because it was cute regardless however I did have to return it because of the sound quality. I would definitely recommend this for like a teenager or a beginner if they want to start out with some thing but, I want more of a vintage one so I think I would look more for an original rather than this modern take on record players

Sound quality is not up to par

It's a Meh item. The actual speakers are the biggest problem. They sound like tin, even with blue tooth. What saved me from returning it, is that it can play out to other blue tooth speakers

Meh - terrible speakers, but it's fine to play my old holiday albums once a year
