The price and performance of the Dell G3 is slightly better than the last Gen in Sprin Gaming, but it doesn't feel like it's worthy of being called Next-gen The biggest problem for us is that the G3 looks like a three year old computer. The build quality is the same, if not worse. The I/o is old school and with Acer making big improvements to the budget gaming segment, the Dell G3 is only just getting a recommendation from us

 I've been very careful with my Dell, and honestly, it has been mediocre. My machine is running Windows 10, GeForce and has both the "Dell Update" and the "Support Assist" features. Updates are inconsistent and often faulty; my laptop had massive issues with downloading some kind of update earlier this year in 2020, and I've consistently had issues where there was a massive typing delay on the built-in keyboard.  The keys are fine, I've kept my laptop clean, but certain keys just won't type

Son Wants a Heavy Gaming Laptop For Streaming Games on Twitch.

I have a dell G3 15 with roughly the same specs (I-7, rtx 2060 and 16 go ram and aside from slight heat issues sometimes I’m very happy with and compared to mine it seems the g15 designs the thermals would be better so I’d say go for it seems like a good price I’d just recommend atleast 16gb of ram to be unhindered.

Is this a good laptop? And a good offer?

Out of the box this laptop comes up short, but with a few upgrades it can be pretty good- however for the money it'll cost you to upgrade, you could just get a model with a better graphics card.  There are 2 upgrades that you can do that make this a significantly better machine.  1) The 256 GB SSD is okay.

 Just another 8 gb 2666mhz SoDimm is more than enough to give this guy a little more multi-tasking capabilities.  Overall, this really isn't a gaming laptop, more like a higher performing work laptop that run some games (Overwatch, Warzone, GTAV, and anything made from 8+ years ago).  I got this model because I wanted something I could edit videos, use photoshop, and maybe play a few games on. I also wanted a machine that wasn't bulky/heavy like most gaming laptops are

 This laptop does do a good job at meeting those requirements, but again, I did have to put money down on a few upgrades to get it performing how I wanted.
