Dyson Ball Animal 2 Review

I have 1000 sqft of carpet and 1000 sqft of tile that I broom. We have 5 giant dogs. I got the Dyson Animal upright vacuum because I thought that it would keep up with all of the dirt and pet hair but I kept ending up with suction issues and clogs and electrical issues. A couple trips to the vacuum repair shop later and it had a new vacuum head from a third party that was

I bought this before moving to an apartment with all carpet. I chose this one because I have 2 cats and a baby and carpet is disgusting. I love: 1) the suction on this unit! It took almost 2 months of everyday vacuuming, but I can finally vacuum over 900 SQ ft of carpet and only empty the bin once. 2) after a month and a half of daily vacuuming I could walk around in bare feet for a day without my feet looking dirty (white socks still discolor after 2 days) 3) the tools that came with the vacuum cleaner compliment it well and you *need* them when using the hose because the strong suction makes moving smoothly over a surface neigh impossible 4) it's super easy to take the guard off the roller and unwind the hair that collects on it

I love and HATE this vacuum!

We feel that using the vacuum is very easy on your back compared to our experience with upright units. The hose in this model with the pivoting head makes it easy and less burdensome, since you don't have to worry about the hose getting twisted up on you. Switching attachments is also very quick and easy, and the different mechanisms feel like the rest of the unit, well made and durable.

  The vacuum cleaner won't stay upright while you are rolling it along on the back wheels to another room. Incredibly annoying.  OVERALL  Good vacuum cleaner, but Dyson lost my trust by selling me a product with three tools and only two spots to put them even though there is a video on this web page that made me believe there was a spot to put all three tools. I won't buy another Dyson product

PROS  Very good suction and it does what it's supposed to do. If you're buying this to just vacuum floors, you won't be disappointed.  It has a large bin, so no need to dispose of it a lot.  Both filters are washable, so there's no need to continuously buy new filters

No Spot for Tangle Free Turbine Tool

Dyson Ball Vacuum. Anyone purchase this with thoughts? Thinking about purchasing and appears to be a Costco exclusive item.

 The attachments are nice to have, though I find myself only needing the low profile "mouth", if you will. The suction was also FANTASTIC the first day I used it, and despite regularly cleaning the filters and catch basin, I do not see the same suction any longer, which is very disappointing. It is still strong, but not nearly as strong as that first use. I am not sure if this is a fault of all or just my vacuum? If it gets worse I will contact the manufacturer, but for now it does the job

 In order to vacuum things such as sofas, you must have the unit closely nearby because the hose is not terribly long or bendable. Almost Perfect

The dyson V11 animal one is amazing. I know it’s a few hundred more but I just bought it and my god, it’s honestly amazing.

Got a Dyson V7 and kinda disappointed on its power. Want to buy a good stick vac and be done with it. Will be used on tile/ maybe laminate in future.

Best cordless stick vacuum

 This makes things awkward to handle.  Do not like the removable handle at all---DYSON nailed that design in the DC07 Upright.  If you use this for carpet and hard flooring this model has suction power. But I notice the EDGE suction isn't as good as the DC07 model, so that means ladies you have to remove the handle and then get your hand pinched

  This Dyson has issues, it is too lightweight (thank you for thinking of our backs). It tips over, the suction coil isn't designed right, it bends and the suction pulls it so pinches your hand (and it hurts). Ths suction is very powerful (YEAH!), but if you have loose rugs---forget about it, the suction is so powerful, you are pulling the rug (where the DC07 handled) out of the machine.  The clicking to make it stand-up is clumsy and doesn't always click in without you having to place your foot on the base and give it a good push

This Dyson has suction power, is light weight (tips over), and not practical for many rug types.

I've been wanting Dysons.  Had a powerful model, but I just didn't need that particular unit - I'm a bachelor in a studio, so technically I don't even need a vacuum, but I would feel bizarre without having suction power for my cleaning needs.  

Been thinking about that Shark Cordless (seems cheaper than Dyson cordless).

And Black Friday is coming right up, so I'm mildly lucky.

Any thoughts, community?
