  Speaking of switches; I think it is important to select the right switch for a person's intended use. The keyboards I have previously owned have had Gateron brown switches which are your "middle of the line" type of switch that attempts to please the wider variety but I've grown quite tired of them. I say: if you want tactile and click, go blue. Otherwise go black

 Given you can't really buy single switches, be prepared to buy a 10 pack of switches just for the two you need to customise the space bar. Quite annoying!! - NO CUSTOM SPACEBAR KEYCAPS. Okay this is what made me almost return the keyboard immediately. This is advertised as a 64 key OR 66 key keeb due to the customisable spacebar but HOW does Epomaker expect us to utilise the feature if they not only don't supply the switches to use the feature but they don't supply the actual kepcaps needed to use it either?!? Given that this is a feature exclusive to Epomaker, I'm willing to bet that finding these keycaps is NOT an easy task, so the least you would expect for an £80 keyboard is the bare MINIMUM of everything included in the box

I don't normally write reviews but since I've been on the hunt for the perfect keyboard I'd share my thoughts (TLDR at the end since this will probably end up being quite long):  Overall, the construction of this keyboard is spectacular. The PBT keycaps are wonderful, although I believe it is an XDA profile which can take some getting used to if coming from OEM or similar keycaps that are shaped differently per row (XDA has a more uniform profile with all keycaps being the exact same height). The case does not have the typical high pitch "ping" that a lot of keyboards tend to exhibit - even without any modding - which is fantastic for the average consumer that just wants a good sounding keeb out of the box. Since I've only had this for a day, I can't comment on the mod-ability of it, but it is hot-swappable which is ideal if you want to change out the switches at a later date or if you want to lube the switches/stabilisers

  Like the title says, however, all this high praise does not mean that this keyboard is perfect. There are a couple of sacrifices that were made due to either the price point or the design of the board that you may want to consider before purchasing.  Firstly, the layout of the board makes it EXTREMELY difficult to find compatible third-party keycap sets that weren't made specifically for it. This is because the board needs a 2U left shift key, which is very seldom included in keycap sets

  This list of issues is very acceptable given the price tag. This is especially true given that this is one of the few keyboards on the market with all the features mentioned above. For the money, you probably won't find a deal better than this.

FANTASTIC budget keyboard, but not perfect

We got the same Keycaps. I love that keycaps, currently using it on my GK64xs, ang milky cover Keycaps on my TM680.

Awesome quality! This keyboard was built nice! The plastic case feels substantial and the keycaps are made with quality plastic as well. I've tried many prebuilt mechanical keyboards now, and the quality of this one is one the best if not the best. I got the one with one with Gateron Red switches. It's buttery smooth, and sounds pretty nice

NO CASE SWAP.... a quality keyboard nonetheless.

I recently bought Drop Holy Pandas, and when I went to lube them, I noticed they had different length springs in them (as well as slightly different coloration). It was about a 50/50 split among the switches which spring length they had.

Hey there, I'm not looking to build my own mechanical keyboard as they tend to be a little out of my price range. When looking at keycaps, how can I tell if the backlighting will be able to shine through the letters on the cap? I really like the Varmilo VA108M Yakumo and the caps look awesome, but in youtube videos the backlighting just shines around the keycap, whereas my other option Ducky One 2 the backlighting shines through the keycap letter.

I'd definitely buy the Varmilo if not for this, as I don't even see the point of having the backlighting with those caps. So now I'm leaning toward the Ducky One 2 and potentially replacing the keycaps.

Looking at buying a Leopold Fc750r (if they ever come back in stock), and later plan on modding it to add hot swap sockets. My question is are the legs on the stock switches trimmed or will I be able to desolder, clean them up and use them in the hot swap sockets?

I found out that the usb type c port on my new keychron k8 is loose or wobbly, it's not like my other keyboard or my phone port which you felt the click then it secured when you put the type c cable in the port. The k8 doesn't have that click.

Been lurking here for a few years, looking into getting my first proper mechanical keyboard. I have decided on a lot of things, but its finding the right base I am having trouble with... I LOVE the [GMMK White Ice Edition](https://www.pcgamingrace.com/products/the-glorious-gmmk-tkl-pre-built-white), but the type I need is sold out sadly, I really hope they come back in soon. I would go with barebones but can't get that in white. Also love the look of the [Drop CTRL](https://drop.com/buy/drop-ctrl-mechanical-keyboard#overview), (the grey is close enough to white/silver for me) but doesn't seem to come in ISO. Basically I am looking for these options: 

* White top/plate/main colour.
* TKL.
* ISO UK layout.
* ~~Hot Swappable.~~
* RGB or white/blue lit at least.
* Pref USB-C removable.

I do love the floating key look, but I can pass on that if the other choices match. If anyone knows of any keyboards that fit this, I would really appreciate a link/name! 

Also, am I shooting myself in the foot for not just going with ANSI layout? I feel its more easy to find, and I worry when I get to custom keycaps, it could be an issue. But I have only ever used ISO, I don't think I could adjust to or enjoy not having a big enter key!

Hi everyone! Really new to customizing a mechanical keyboard, only ever bought prebuilt ones in the past. I just ordered the magic girl key caps (https://thekey.company/products/dsa-magic-girl-keycaps-round-2), and I was wondering if I could order any generic ducky (or any mechanical keyboard for that matter), and replace their keycaps with these new ones, while keeping the switches intact?

Wanted know whether to get an nk65 or a dz65rgb board since they're both hotswappable but I'm not to sure which colour of the case that would work with the GMK Darling Alphas, another factor would be the price of the keeb since I sorta used my cash on the Darlings :P

I'm looking to pick up a couple keyboards similar to a razer deathstalker(chroma), sacrilege around these parts I know.

The reason I use that as a comparison is because I like the chiclet style keys, the very little travel the keys have, and it's pretty quiet. I'm used to typing on a laptop keyboard. 

I'd keep my current deathstalker but the RGB has started introducing some coil whine type noise that drives me nuts. I also figured I deserve the upgrade.

I've looked around, and see the Keychron V1 seems to be about as close as I can get to a deathstalker chroma 'profile' in a 'real' mechanical keyboard. I know logitech and corsair have some stuff out there too but I don't think it's actually a mech. keyboard.

Can you recommend a full size keyboard, with low profile, chiclet style keys, little key travel, is quiet, and has some kickass RGB on it too? Price range \~$150 USD or so would rock.

Perhaps a question asked before, but what are the thoughts on the Drop CTRL keyboard? I am rather tempted to get it so I can start testing out different switches as a mechanical keyboard newbie and it seems like a good keyboard.

However, I've also heard a lot about problems with key chatter and registering keys twice. Is this still a real problem for all switches or is it just the Halos? Is it actually a keyboard problem or a switch problem?

I've seen a couple of posts on here where people are modding their CTRL keyboards so I was wondering how viable getting this keyboard actually would be. Reviews seem solid, but yet I hear about the key chatter issue a lot. How common are these problems and are people still having them?

Edit: Looking at hotswappable keyboards at the moment, so any other good recommendations would be great. I'm looking at the GMMK as well, but I think I'm favoring the CTRL if the key chatter issues aren't as common as it sounds (in newer batches). In a similar vein, how does the Keychron K8 compare?

I picked up a refurbished Blackwidow Elite for $100 off of Amazon about a month ago, but among other problems, the caps lock key has stopped working on it so I am planning on getting a return. Are there any other good mechanical keyboards that have a dedicated key(s) for the volume (my only requirement), or does a Razer Blackwidow Elite at $100 have the best value over any others?

The gaming keyboard I have is super bulky, but has buttons to play/stop music, skip songs, adjust volume, etc. As someone who makes music, I would really love to have a small, compact keyboard that takes up little space on my studio desk, but also has these controls.

Is the drop alt high profile worth getting, or should I rather get the idabao id80 with a longer shipping time? This is considering I am using Durock teal linears.
