My review on the m11 would also have been out for a little while and so everything I said about the m11 I feel holds true for the q5 s as well compared to files current flagship, the x7 mark. FiiO Q5s Bluetooth Headphone DAC & Amplifier Review

Until now I was using a Fiio Q5s for away from the desk listening and this thing sounds similar if not the same. I can’t really AB-test so not sure, but somehow, and this is obviously subjective as hell, the Tea sounds clearer than the Q5S. I like it very much. Both wired and bluetooth sound good

 The MagSafe is nice, but without the MagSafe iPhone case it comes off too easily. I’ve put it a couple of times in my pocket with it sliding off: using the extra magnet of the MagSafe case makes it stick much better and it doesn’t come off.   

 I like it very much. Both wired and bluetooth sound good. But then again, this is my new toy so to my brain it simply sounds amazing.   

First impressions: my Khadas Tea has arrived and it slaps!

 No sound. My phone shows the correct Fiio device capability 24-bit/192 kHZ. The indicator light glows amber indicating HD audio. But still no sound

I know sound demos are not IRL accurate but man I want to rip out my ears when using my fiio q5s tosling - a90 - neumann ndh20. I hope something happens that will not tell me it has bloated bass. I like Koss KPH30i, NDH20 and Sony MDR m1st but definitely not THIS.

[Crinacle] The HD8XX is goodn't

 Other stuff was removed. Bluetooth connectivity is better with new version. But many old Hi quality ports are gone. And most importantly something is wrong with the quality of sound

 The sound is not as good as with original Q5. The "stage" is much narrower in Q5s. Maybe I got a faulty unit? Anyway I did not like Q5s and got one more Q5 instead.

Unfortunately did not work for me.

I've had HD 599's since COVID lockdowns began here. The imaging is immensely improved on as is the sound stage. Accompanied with a Fiio Q5 I have never been more so happy when putting on a pair of cans such as these. Lows sound punchy and amazing

A noticeable and mathematical improvement over apples solution. When using my on ears with apples adapter i had to set the volume to 70% to hear it. With this i set it to about 40 -50% and it sounds twice as loud and better. I regretted buying my on ear headphones before I tried them with this

  Update I had to return it as it had a issue with my iPhone where it would try to charge off it and the audio quality would drop.

Apple adapter 24 bit 48khz maybe 96khz if they allowed it in software this 32 bit 768khz

My galaxy buds get used more than everything else combined due to my schedule. That doesn't mean everything else is a waste nor does it mean the buds are bad though. They're great for what they are and happen to fill my current lifestyle way better than other cans.

I bought my FiiO Q5s because it has so many connectivity options. But I have ended up using it on the desktop, only. I could have gotten an Asgard 3 with multibit DAC for less money.

Oh, well. Live and learn.

I have a very nice objective setup with an hi-res files > audirvana > rme adi 2 dac > LCD-X. It sounds great. But about half the time my music listening the past couple of months is slightly worn vinyl > cheap sony PS-LX250H > fiio q5s > 6xx. It's clearly and very noticeably not as hifi as my good digital setup. It's not even as exciting as my digital setup for rock music, but I enjoy my analog setup a lot for rock music. I might like it even more than the digital setup for rock music.

edit: that really only applies to rock/folk/similar music though. I would never choose vinyl, even on a very good setup, over my digital setup for anything electronic, pop, classical, rap, or anything else I can think of.

It's the most minor thing in the world but it somehow really feels cheaper now; I dont really care, though

This post is intended to everyone who bought the gear - expensive to you - and after the HONEYMOON period started to double guess, negate, double guess, negate, and finally accept the downsides that you didn’t notice in the beginning - a borderline of buying remorse.

I will start.

1) I found my HD650 and 600 kind of... uncomfortable. My ears touch the inside of the cups making it itching after a while. I didn’t notice that at first.

2) I can’t hear much of a difference between o2/odac and the iPad Pro. At first I honestly noticed that it was night and day but not anymore. Feels bad man.

It’s time to confess a little negative secret about you gear - What’s yours?

 I could maybe understand if this happened when it reached 10% battery life, that may be forgivable, but at 20-40% charge it should not disconnect from bluetooth.  Original Review: Jokes aside when I use this amp I just feel good. The world is brighter, my mood shifts ever so gently into nirvana, and as I walk on water its evaporates into vapor clouds that lift me through transcendence of time and space.  I am currently using the Q5s to power my Sennheisers and Moondrop Starfields

 I tried using the lightning to usb connection, because this should provide the best sound quality when using it with a phone, but it didn't work and I just figured it was not possible with the 5 SE. A few days latter I tried it again, but with the unit shut off I connected everything first and then switched the power on. It worked instantly. So I am assuming this would be the same with any iPhone

 I have used it in BT with my phone in one pocket and the Q5s in the other and sometimes the sound does cut in and out.  The iPhone 5 SE is not a listed supported device. My set-up: I'm currently running them from a Fiio Q5s and a custom 4.4 balanced cable and it sounds fantastic.

They clamp. They clamp hard at first, you're going to either have to wear them a lot or put them on a book etc. The first few times you wear them the clamp may hurt a bit but eventually it results for a great fit for any sized head.

I currently have the HD660s and I absolutely love them. Very vocal headphones with an amazing amount of detail+imaging. They are however very intimate for an open back headphone. Going from the 598 I expected a large soundstage but it was moreso an in your head presentation

Comfort: Very comfortable fit, you'll actually notice that the middle part is gone when you put them on but once you wear other headphones you'll notice that not having it is actually better. I too am a student so I wear them for many hours and I have no comfort issues except for my big ears which touch the earpad if I don't sit them right.

**Budget**  \- as you can see, there is a big spread in the range of the budget, my goal is around 350$, but the maximum is probably the Amiron with 418$, i just included the DT 1990 to show why he is not really a choice for me, exept you all can vouch for it. The Drop Headphones are in brackets since i cant send them back from Germany, so while they are the cheapest, i cant try them out, but have to be dead sure that i want them.

**Source/Amp** \- currently using a FIIO E10K, planing on upgrading to an Atom Stack over the course of the next year or so.

**How the gear will be used**  \- These headphones will be my daily drivers at home, i use them roughly 10 hours a day right now, so they have to be durable and easy to repair. I use them to listen to music, but also alot for gaming, so this has to be factored in, if possible. Since i dont use them outside of my house, they can be open, in fact i really prefer open headphones for my prolonged use 

**Preferred tonal balance**  \- Im looking for a jack of all trades, so to say, since i use them for nearly everything and i cant afford multible pairs.

**Preferred music genre(s)** \- Im listening to a lot of metal and rock, but also to hip hop and slower, more jazz-like music.

**Past** **gear experience**  \- For the last four years, i've been using the DT 990 250 Ohm. I have no real problem with their hights, but i wouldnt mind a little bit less. I also own the Sennheiser Momentum 1, which sound a bit too muffled for me

**What** **aspect of your current listening experience would you like to improve? -** I would like to improve on the amount of detail you can hear for one, and for the other i would love to get a bit more "present" voices, i personally feel that the DT 990 struggles a bit with that. Also the bass is quite present in this headphone, but i dont really "feel it", if that makes any sense, it sounds very dry and doesnt manage to get me moving my head along the beat.
