Gossamer Gear G4-20. Used it 14+ nights so far replaced the back pad with Various CCF pads.

I'm in good enough shape now that I'm never in horrible pain after hiking, just a little sore depending on the terrain. I've been running a Crown2 60 with a ~15lb base, but feel like it's time to downsize my pack as I've honed in my setup more and really not filling it out. I've been eyeing up a Gossamer g4-20 as it'd be roughly 10oz lighter, and seemingly easier to move more swiftly with.

Between those and the hip belt pockets, I have accessible storage again without relying so much on my pants pockets!. - Quality is superb. Stitching is rock solid and beautiful. Workmanship seems to be near-flawless (standard for GG from what I've read).

Secondarily, your pack is heavy too. If you can get away with it, I'd suggest going with a mid-capacity ultralight pack, like the Gossamer Gear G4-20 (23-26 oz), which is $180 new. I'm not sure if you can swing it if you'll be bringing food for your buddy, but it was worth mentioning. If you make those adjustments you'll be below 10 lbs.

The first one I tried was the Atom+ 40L pack and the second was the Gossamer Gear G4-20 42L pack. Both with the same torso length as my previous frameless packs which are women's specific - North Face 40L and Mountain Hardwear 38L. I also use a Gossamer Gear Murmur without any shoulder pain although the torso length is slightly too long.
