 build quality. This board is relatively heavy, coming in at around 400 grams more than the Id80v1, but around 200 grams less than the V2. So as you heard, the stabilizers are pretty bad, but we'll talk about those more later. The overall build quality is really, really solid and there's virtually no case echo in this build

 The Id80 crystal is currently in group by and it comes in with two different color options. There's transparent acrylic at 259 us dollars and smoky polycarbonate at 269. Nice! This board looks amazingly premium and some of the things that set it apart is that it's a gasket mounted 75 with a hot swap Pcb. We'll talk more about the gasket mount later, but it's a good change from the integrated plates that we've seen in other idle belt boards

 This led to an overall uneven typing experience, which wasn't the best. I reached out to Idabow and they said they'll be correcting this with the final boards. The bottom foam is just slightly too thick. Here's an example of what was happening: The plate didn't rest evenly on the bottom gaskets, which made the experience from the gasket mount just a little bit weird

New to keyboards. Picked up a DROP CTRL yesterday and am loving it, and im wondering if lubing the switches themselves will make a huge difference. They are already quite smooth (especially compared to my 3 year old razer greens) and ive already lubed and band aid modded the stabilizers. 

  
TL;DR will lubing my halo clears make a noticeable difference to the average joe?

I just received my purple zealios v2 in the mail.

I currently have a Drop ALT which requires me to clip the switches. Later this year, I'll be receiving my first custom keeb which has a PCB which is compatible with the 2 zeal prongs.

Does clipping them now so i can use them until i get my new board affect the quality? Will using the clipped switches once i get my new KB affect quality? Should I wait?

I have a Logitech g810 keyboard and for some time now letters get printed twice although I don't tap twice or tap long enough for it to interpret it as keeping it pressed.  (hope the sentence makes sense)

Also when playing Valorant and I try to defuse or plant the spike, I press "4" normal and it starts to plant/defuse 2-3 times in very quick succession until I press the key really hard, so the action goes through. I even got yelled at because this happened several times in the same match and my teammates thought, I'm doing that on purpose lol. But at this point I'm annoyed by the problem.

The keyboard is now nearly 3 years old. Does anyone know that problem and can point me in a direction? I bought it on sale for 40€ so I can't complain, if it is now broken, but I'm not that keen on spending hundred bucks for something new.

Hello! I have a few more enthusiast grade questions as I am looking to buy a higher quality keyboard and peripherals.

I was looking at the Ducky One 2 RGB TKL and was wondering how much of a pain the macros are? As well as any general opinions on overall build quality and feel of it. I only found a handful of reviews for this one rather than it's 60% counterpart. Really like the look of it but am hesitant as it'll take awhile to arrive and the cost. I know ducky is a quality brand just not sure if this one was considered a top pick for the price range.

Second question is how do Cherry MX Red Silents feel in comparison to normal reds? I've seen mixed reviews saying it feels squishy by comparison and some saying it feels the same. I'll be living with a roommate and eventually my gf in the coming years. Mainly wondering if they are silent enough to be worth the switch while being close to the Cherry Red feel I already love.

Last question, where is the best place to buy a quality premade usb-c to a coil cable like I've seen throughout this sub? The process seems tedious and I messed up more than enough gamecube controllers paracording and modding to know I'd rather just buy a premium one. Also is there any actual benefits (save for usual paracord benefits) or is it mainly aesthetics?

Since I've been working from home, I decided to buy a new keyboard so that I don't have to rely on my laptop and somehow ended up looking at mechanical keyboards. I'm completely overwhelmed by what is available so thought I'd check here for recommendations. 

I'm looking for a budget minimalist keyboard, I love the look of the K2 Keychron but the reviews suggest it could be difficult to use as an everyday typing keyboard due to the angle (unless I use a wrist rest) - Are there any similar keyboards for under £100 that would be recommended please?

I like shinethrough PBTs, and I was thinking of getting the Halo Trues but I hear mixed things about the housings on them (to the point where people would grab the Panda housings and make Holy Pandas). Not looking to mod beyond hotswapping, but do you guys recommend the Drop CTRL for a starter TKL? I love all the features it has and the lighting options without being too gimmicky.

I want to build a keeb for my sis and I just asked her what layout she wants and she specifically wants wireless + numpad.

Is there such a 96key bluetooth pcb out there? Or other layouts that have the numpad?

I know there are the keychron k4/iquinix F96 but the former is OOS and latter is too expensive, i don't mind building/soldering, just that I can't seem to find a pcb that would satisfy her demand...

I want to buy the K70 MK.2 Low-profile keyboard. 

Reasons I like the K70:
I like the low-profile look. I (THINK) I will like 'laptop-like' keycaps - given I already like typing on a laptop vs on my current Steelseries 6GV2.

Are there any suggestions for a similar keyboard for the same price point? (Canadian) and preferably low-profile? Or any suggestions on how to design one since that seems like what this subreddit is about... (first time here sorry!)

I just bought a DROP ALT barebones keyboard. I would like to try out gateron brown switches and an SA profile keycap set. I noticed on KBD Fans that there's "Gateron Brown" and "Gateron RGB brown". Which one should I get?

**Should I buy HHKB Pro Hybrid or the Hybrid Type-S one? (I will lube and silent ring X)**

As one comparison I found: "The Type-S is scratchy/airy as I expected, but feels firmer than the super-light regular Hybrid."

Can someone compare it with MX Silent Black vs MX Black retooled? I know the Topre and MX is totally different, but I don't know if I like the Type-S or not. I prefer the smooth of MX Black to the scratchy of MX Silent one.

I don't know if the Hybrid can become a Type-S with lube and silent ring X because, in the comparison, the author said: "The Type-S just feels (even if only imaginary) better-built, and it serves my need for a quieter board for work." So I don't know if the Type-S version has different build not just the silent ring compare to the regular version. Can someone please let me know about it?

What keyboard should I buy?

I write at 6am and try not to wake up my family.

I want to buy a cheap, quiet mechanical keyboard, because I dislike the feel of the keyboard I currently use (the keys are loose, they 'clack' when the keys bump into each other) and I know it can be better. I'm thinking a quiet one with tactile feedback over sound. 

I would like to spend about £50 and I would like it to already be built. I basically want as good value benefit. 

Aesthetically, I have a ThinkPad which is black and red, so if there was anything like this it would be a little bonus
