 Another big pro for me is the auto empty bin system, which makes me feel like the robot, is more independent and requires less attention, which i think other people will also appreciate. The bin itself seems to be a step up from the cheaper systems. I'Ve seen recently like with the nibot and company in terms of design. I say that because of the placement of the hole which seemed less prone to clogs, and it just seemed to be of higher quality in general, the debris is collected into a disposable bag, which you receive

 But it's not perfect with my main complaints being that the side brush knocks things around a bit more than i like, and it just wasn't. As efficient as some of its more expensive competition with a carpet deep, clean test, where i embed sand into medium pile carpet and weigh the bins before and after a five minute run, it scored a 77 which is above average for its price range and about average. If price is not taken into account, moving on to the negative stuff, its power, like its suction and airflow numbers were below average and the main place it showed up was with heavy debris like cat litter and sand, especially when using its standard power mode where it Wasn'T very effective at all. If i used max power, it was better, but it's not ideal, since that would lower the battery life and make it louder

 It'S not as loud as an upright vacuum or anything like that, but it is louder than average. Its main brush design was okay for most types of debris, but it was prone to hair tangles in both the five and seven inch human hair tests where it was below average. In my opinion, i'm going to call its battery life a con, which is a little nitpicky, because it does automatically return to its base to recharge if it runs low on battery, and it just starts up where it left off when it's charged. So it almost doesn't matter, but it was a little below average at 120 minutes on low power, which is pretty low, considering it already has a lower than average power output on low power

The ihome looks great on paper and is on sale at Walmart right now for $269 and there are a lot of sharks on sale locally for similar or less money in new or like-new condition (probably first gen). I'll be using the robot to control dog hair on the main floor of my house, which is less than 1000 sqft and mostly hardwood and tile.

Anyone had experience with the ihome? The Shark seems very popular but I've seen some mixed reviews, with the most complaints centered around mapping and navigation. Adams Tech Reviews on YT has tested both and had positive things to say about the ihome (after they made a couple revisions), while he absolutely despises the shark, regardless of the version.

Another consideration is the app experience. I'm on Android. Most of the robot vacuum apps have pretty trash user ratings, while Sharks app is actually fairly positive.

 In addition, the water reservoir is also the dust/dirt reservoir for vacuuming, which makes me concerned about vacuuming after mopping; even a day later, I'm just not sure it will be dry inside. - Gets stuck way too often. Hard floors and standard carpeting seem fine, but any rugs or slight variations in the surface height (we have a couple of cat trees with bases that are about an inch tall) can cause problems. Basically every time it vacuums it gets stuck at least one, today when mopping it got stuck about 8 times

It's difficult for me to say how good a job it does. This is the 3rd robot vacuum I've used, one from my son was junk, the second is a Shark that seems to do a good job, and then this one: - Relatively loud, much louder than the Shark - 2-3 inches larger diameter than the Shark, so it can't get into corners quite as well - Only has one rotating brush on the bottom, where the Shark has two - Will mop the floor, which is a nice feature, but as it only uses water (no cleaning solution), I doubt it does a particularly good job. Like the title says, I am new to robot vacs and have some questions I hope you all can answer.  First off, what happens with a mapping vac if you rearrange furniture?  Does it have to remap the room?  Does this happen if you just move a chair or table?

We are looking for vacuum and mopping ability with self emptying.  We have a mix of hard floor and carpet, all on a single level, about 1500 sqft. No pets or kids or long hair issues.  I would like LIDAR, but am open to other mapping systems.  I have identified several models: Neabot Q11, Yeedi vac station, Ecovacs Deebot N8 Pro+, and Airrobo T10+.  Any suggestions, for or against these, or other models, would be greatly appreciated.  Also, some of these say they vac and mop all in one step.  Does the carpet get wet? New to Robot Vacs and Have Some Questions

 It just sucks them up or drags them out of place. Every home has power cords and this unit has the same problem with power cords that my previous unit (bought in 2015) had.  > Next, the unit has problems cleanly & securely docking with the base when it is installed on carpet. Is it that smart?

So last night I tried mopping with my ihome nova for the first time. It’s only a week old and is was having a hard time. It couldn’t go in a straight line. It would have to back up and try going in a straight line again

Wish I had enough space to say all my thoughts! I have had a Shark irobot & now this IHome Vac, unfortunately, both have issues connecting to the app. I called customer service & they confirmed the issue w/ IHome Vac & said it would likely be resolved in a week, so unable to talk about app connection. PRO'S: does a good job of cleaning carpet, like that it has a remote for those w/o smartphones/app issues, strong suction on carpets (stronger than my old Shark), u can attend to other chores while IHome is vacuuming,  no clunky/bulky vacuum to transport for cleaning, floor not overly damp after mopping, doesn't hit walls/surfaces hard, not super loud. CONS: instructions/pictures on Vac usage are confusing/vague, ordering extra bags/mop pads will get expensive, no place in instructions does it tell you model/serial # for replacement parts, app connection issues, remote doesn't come w/ batteries = make sure you have 2 AAA's, mopping feature left my carpet damp as Vac travelled back to base

 I have tried the buttons on the top of the robot, the remote it came with, my phone app, hell, even the TV remote which used to make it move too. It's still showing the green flashing lights that indicate charging, but now I'm concerned because it's been on the charger for so long yet not fully charged apparently?  (It's on hardwood floor now since my last post). I tried to contact support but I keep getting an error in the support page.
