 Depending on the path a roomba takes to clean the room, it may not fully pick up the debris from the surface if the side and center brushes don't make contact with the surface. Vacuum's been around for some time and I finally decided to pick one up because it comes with imprint smart mapping technology. I went for the Roomba I7. This technology learns and maps your home make it easy to clean specific rooms for quick jobs or even a full floor cleanup

 Now over here on the back we have the waste bin and the filter tempting out the bin. You're just going to want to press this little grey button here and it will eject the door for you to empty it out. Now let's just flip this over and see what's on the bottom. We have the side brush that's used to get into those areas where the center brush can't reach and it's easily removed using a screwdriver, a caster wheel for easy maneuvering in the center

 A common question I get and I'm not quite sure how the answer is around the loudness of the vacuum, so I decided to do a sound test between my roomba a regular vacuum and a stick vacuum. Even though during the sound test the roomba was moving around, it was still quieter. Overall, some findings and tips for my usage so far: Pick up all the items off the floor before running the roomba. You'll want to be extra diligent picking up items that could wrap around the rollers, cords, strings, and the like as they could wrap around pretty extensively

 we didn't experience it again. Now Let's talk about some of the downsides that we've experienced with our Roomba I7 plus Robotic Vacuum Cleaner.. First Up the design of the Roomba allows the front to get pretty scratched up

What I'm looking for: a simple vacuum cleaner robot able to clean most animal fur/fair/feathers, if possible with a mapping option. Conga robots (from Cecotec brand) are not allowed.

Looking for robot vacuum cleaners recommendations!

 The dust and dirt has to go in a bin. Why in the world did iRobot engineer the i7 bin to be so tiny? I have to think it's because they want you to buy the more expensive tower model. I'm in the market for a new robot vacuum and will be looking into other brands that have a larger bin capacity.

 We also really like the self-emptying feature of the I7 Plus. Moving on to what we dislike about this vacuum, it did struggle a bit picking up shorter pet hair on hard surfaces. It also failed to get proper coverage around its clean base in both our empty room and cluttered room navigation testing. Another negative for the I7 is its short battery life

 Note that it repeats movement over the same areas as part of its normal cleaning pattern, but in this particular test, it also activated a special mode called dirt detect mode, which causes it to repeat even more movement over areas where it senses a high concentration of debris. Next up, we have our Carpet Deep Clean test, in which the I7 picked up six grams of debris after three passes over an area of carpet embedded with 30 grams of fine debris in our heart floor stress test. The I7 once again picked up all debris types very well. Again, it relies heavily on repeat movement over the same areas to clean up properly In this test

 Its suction was measured at 0.07 kpa. Unlike most other robot vacuums on the market, the I7 comes equipped with two brush rolls instead of one. The additional brush roll improves surface agitation, but increases the surface area of the brush compartment, which effectively reduces the overall airflow and suction through the compartment largely because of its two brush rolls

 The I7 once again picked up all debris types very well. Again, it relies heavily on repeat movement over the same areas to clean up properly In this test. Over time, the I7 also performed very well cleaning edges. It cleaned especially well moving parallel to and close to the edge, using its side brush to pull debris out of the edge and into its direct cleaning path

 It also failed to get proper coverage around its clean base in both our empty room and cluttered room navigation testing. Another negative for the I7 is its short battery life. The robot will recharge and resume where it left off before needing a recharge. But if you have a large home, one complete cleaning cycle, including multiple recharges, may take a very long time
