FYI - first serious review of the most anticipated speaker JBL partybox 110 is here including sound comparison vs PB100!

  Now the one big disappointment I have with the Partybox 110.  The lower bass seems masked by the boosted mid/upper bass in (Bass Level 1). This results in the bass sounding boomy. It's very unfortunate since it's predecessor, the PartyBox 100 had better deep bass peak that wasn't boomy like this

 Very nice.  Connectivity- Bluetooth 5.1, multiple devices can be connected at the same time, and range is quite good. Very impressed  Portability - This is decently heavy, I'd say it's more transportable than portable at 23lbs

 The Tweeters are now angled as opposed to just one side/top. New analog knobs for changing the light show and play/pause have now been added, they also double as buttons. Very nice.  Connectivity- Bluetooth 5

 Not a big deal, I don't expect this to be audiophile sounding but just something to note.  All in all, this is a good speaker. But the 110 could've been even better and would've been easier to recommend, if not for the bass boost.  Everything else about the 110 is good, it is a better sounding speaker than the 100 except for this boosted mid/upper bass

Have you given the JBL Xtreme 3 a listen?  Thing is solid and sounds good, can charge via USB C and will charge a phone, etc. from the speaker, waterproof.  I really like the thing so far.  I'm sure some people will hate on them, just because they're JBL, but they make some killer gear.  

I've had the bowers and wilkins T7 for about 7 years until it literally couldn't take my abuse anymore.  I must say, it did sound fantastic, especially for the size.  It did stand up to A LOT of use though.  So, it was important for me to get something waterproof this time, and I was also tired of carrying around a wall wart with it.  

B&W makes a zeppelin model or something for in-home, less portable use.  I would give that some consideration if you're not taking it outside and all over the place.  

Now I'm curious about that mini rig for carry on travelling though.  :-O

The size and functions doesn't matter, they can be big. I just want to be able to connect them with my phone. And I know that I can't get perfect audiophile quality with bluetooth speakers, but I want to know the closest thing to it.

 Where am I going to put it? I hope I don't lose the darn thing. They already have some space on the bottom for a pole mount -- making this just a bit bigger for power cable storage would have been ideal.  Sound Quality: 4 stars Music sounds great!  I turned them off.  Bluetooth: 5 stars Good connectivity. I can put the speaker in the back yard & walk around the house with my phone -- it only drops connections on the far side of the building. That's SO MUCH BETTER than most bluetooth speakers I've used

It's a party in a box!

Looking for advice on choosing a Bluetooth party speaker that's going to last most of the day, outside, puts out big loud sound with good bass, and can fit into one of those short shopping carts. We are going to dress it up as a walking parade float thing to walk the streets in New Orleans for Mardi Gras. Basically throwing our own little party wherever we go with it. Trying to keep the purchase under $200. Not a total audiophile, but also willing to spend a little more for something that will hold up and sound good for listening other times as well. Thanks for the input.

Need help choosing

Sounds Great, But Has Defects

So after a week of watching far too much Oluv and Alan this is what I'm left with... * JBL PartyBox 110: This is overkill in almost every way but it's clear in Oluvs videos that, while certainly not perfect, it has overall good quality sound and capable bass without any major drawbacks

We did some backyard work and will be having guests over, no more than 10 at a time on average, I was curious on what would be best outside? I bought the Xtreme 2 and returned it because it performed poorly on a semi-windy day as far as bass goes, indoors it was great otherwise, I won’t be using to blast it, it’s just for a nice background music sound. I leave the boombox 2 out of choice because it goes constantly on sale and I can’t justify dropping $500 on it. The reason I’m eyeing the PB310 is because I prefer a Hi-Fi sound and having proper audio separation. The Xtreme 2 was overall okay, but I just felt people easily talked over it that day even at max volume.

Party Box 310 vs Xtreme 3?

 It's surprisingly light and with well-placed handles I can easily move it around with little trouble. Smaller people may have some trouble with it (I’m 6’1), but overall it’s a great speaker to throw in the trunk on your way to a party. Bluetooth The range of this speaker is solid - I walked all around my house with my phone without any trouble. It took walking outside and down my driveway to eventually start losing connection

 When I get to a party, I want to be able to turn on the speaker, connect, and play. No tuning or small adjustments, just good sound now. That’s exactly what this speaker does. I turn it on, connect, press the bass button twice and everything’s good to go
