I’ve been a barista for 7 years now, at many different shops. So I’ve handled a few different machines, but I’ve been pining for an at home machine where I can work on my craft as well as enjoy a cup of the good stuff! I’ve searched high and low, especially in this subreddit but there’s so many different options that it’s a bit overwhelming. 
I’d love some recommendations for an at home espresso machine that I can save up for that are worth it and can withstand the test of time (with maintenance of course). 
I do not have a coffee grinder either, and wonder if there are any dosing machines that are recommended as well. 
I appreciate all help thank y’all!

Current Barista but want an espresso machine for home use. Is there a machine out there that’s worth saving up for versus others?

Also we are not recommending La Marzocco GS3 to beginners nor any double boilers, but good machines as cheap as they can get but still maintain the quality. And again, we are not taking money out of people's pockets.

I am SO tired of people coming on with "my budget is X, what espresso machine should I buy?" and getting "add $XXX to your budget and get THIS", "no espresso machine under $XXX is good, use a moka pot," or "buy a better grinder" in response. 

If you don't have a recommendation for the price range and equipment people are asking for, just don't respond! Don't scare people away from espresso just because they can't afford what you can. 

There is a reason cheaper machines are available. There is a reason pressurized portafilters exist. Despite all the multi-thousand dollar setups people post here on the daily, it is possible to get drinkable, tasty espresso on a budget. Is it going to be the same level? No. Does that mean it won't be worth it for that individual? Also no. 

It is also so disrespectful to tell someone who shares their budget to save more and buy something better. If I have $5k for a car, you're not going to tell me to walk to work or to spend $10k I don't have. I'd buy an old Civic, love it for what it is, and celebrate more on the day I can afford an upgrade. Give people respect for where they are at.

Thick creamy velvet frothed milk, and rich flavorful coffee with deep multivarious notes. And I've reached the point where I want the same at home. Around 4 years ago we had a Krups Espresso Coffee maker, which wasn't fantastic. So we then tried a Nespresso machine, and it was okay in the beginning, but I packed it away a few months ago because either the quality in Nespresso dropped, or my taste has evolved. Either way it's not good. So my question, or rather request for advice is, what good proper machines do you recommend for making a good espresso with good crema, hopefully not too big of a machine either. ;)

We’re coming up on our 10-year anniversary and one of the hallmarks of enjoyment of the years for us has been our shared love of coffee. We currently have an Odea Giro Plus (that is on its last leg) and also have a Nespresso Vertuo.

I’m looking for a high quality espresso machine with all the bells and whistles. But preferably something that can grind the beans and pour the coffee at the push of one button.

It’s been a little overwhelming in terms of the research. There are a million reviews and I frankly don’t know who to trust anymore when it comes to products like this. But I’ve been on some other subreddits that have always been helpful.

Can anyone give me some good advice or recommendations? Whether it’s machines that you love or reviewers you trust, anything would be appreciated. My significant other loves coffee and it’s one of the most comforting parts of her day. I just want something that will make amazing coffee yet retain at least some level of simplicity.

Again...not worried about the price here. Just trying to find out what the very best options are.

For those who have upgraded from entry level machines (barista-pro, gaggia classic pro, bambino, Silvia, etc), what was your experience like taking the step up?

What surprised you the most?

What did you realize you were missing out on?

What made your daily routine easier/more enjoyable?

Is life really better on the other side? 

Or anything else that was noteworthy with your upgrade?

Question for whose who have moved beyond “entry level” machines.

No fuss. I was in the industry a long time ago and have worked on La Marzocco machines a little and love how solid they are. So I bought a La Marzocco GS3 and it’s paired with a Monolith Flat grinder by Kafatek. I also use a PuqPress for uniformity on tamping

I have been browsing this sub along with the coffee sub.  Right now I use a Moka Pot along with store bought Lavazza beans.  I want to jump in but not really sure what to get.  I don't mind spending a lot of money if it is justified and there is value there.

I don't have much patience for playing around so I want something very easy to use with consistent results.   I am not interested in any machine that takes a long time to fire up.

I am interested in making lattes, americanos and cappuccinos mainly.  I will also need to be able to swap between coconut milk and cows milk - not sure if this is possible.

Rather than buying many different setups I would like to go directly to an end game grinder/machine combo.

What say you?

Buying Advice: BMW, Porsche, or K Car

I’d use a flojet or a La Marzocco GS3 or Mini. Make sure whatever you pick up, it’s got the necessary ratings for your city.

Wifes wanting to do a little mobile coffee shop and is on the hunt for a commercial machine  that is smallish, and can run off of a tank or water plumbed into it.   I really like some of the features of the regular Rocket Espresso's, but their commercial stuff doesn't have a water tank option.   What might you all recommend?   Any suggestions would be great.  Thanks!
