I am withholding 1 star for not having a backlit keyboard 1 for not mentioning it being out of warranty and 1 waiting to see how this is handled. I will update the rating and comments as soon as the dust settles.  Update

Listing kept me in the Dark

The number pad is a must-have for data entry (Excel) and the back-lit keyboard is icing on an already delicious cake.

Battery life, even with the back-lit keyboard and larger screen is very good. I have used it for a whole workday unplugged, while listening to music and it lasted well over 8 hours with some to spare.

The keyboard is average. A little clicky but not bad at all for under 500 dollars. It's mid tier, and that's not a bad thing.

An excellent mid-tier Chromebook.
