I haven't used the Duet 5 too much, but it seems to be snappier than the original Duet. Videos were able to play without stuttering and could keep up with multiple tabs and apps open.

Initial impressions with the Lenovo Duet 5

 I am not sure if it is a hardware issue or a Chrome OS issue. In terms of performance, animations and navigating the OS was not really as smooth as I'd like personally, but it is not a dealbreaker for a budget device.  The idea of this device to me seems to be something you can get light work done on but also use for a quality consumption experience. But I feel that trying to split the difference and between the two goals and at this price point, you are underserved either way

I'm currently in the market for a portable device for media consumption and I'm torn between these 2 devices that have great screens and battery lives between charges. I found a barely used PBG with i5/16gb ram/128gb storage for the price of a new base model from Google Store. But with its aged 8th gen CPU and less than 5 years remaining update lifespan, will this still be good for the coming years or should I wait for the new Lenovo Duet 5 with 8gb ram to be available in my country?

I have the Samsung Chromebook Plus V1 which is starting to get a little long in the tooth. It will also stop getting updates next year in August.

I'm having trouble finding a replacement that is a 2-in-1, touch screen, lightweight with fantastic battery life (due to the ARM chip). Is there anything today or coming in near future that is a good replacement for it ?
